Director of Product Management

Location: Remote (US)

Reports to: Chief Executive Officer.

The Role

We're building ambitious new product and service offerings at Finite State, and we're looking for an experienced Director of Product Management who can set the strategic vision for a product area and lead a team to execute against it.

This is a high-impact, high-visibility leadership role for a PM leader who:

  • Has deep domain knowledge in product security or adjacent cybersecurity areas and understands how security practitioners think and buy
  • Excels at synthesizing qualitative and quantitative data to drive sound product decisions across a team
  • Is fluent in AI tools for research, content generation, and synthesis — and instills those habits across their team to multiply output
  • Is as AI native thinker and is excited to help build and lead the industry's first agentic product security assurance team

What You'll Do

  • Own a product area end-to-end — and lead the team doing it. Set the vision, define key outcomes and metrics for product and customer success, and guide your team of PMs and cross-functional partners to build the right things at the right time.
  • Be the authority on your domain. Develop and champion a deep understanding of the product security assurance challenges our customers face, and bring that perspective into executive and go-to-market conversations.
  • Drive strategic prioritization. Make clear, defensible calls on what gets built and what doesn't — balancing customer needs, market opportunities, and business goals at a portfolio level.
  • Lead AI-powered product operations. Champion the use of AI automation to ensure the team always has the latest data driving product decisions, and build repeatable workflows your team can scale.
  • Own product messaging at a strategic level. Partner closely with our go-to-market leadership to shape how we position new and improved capabilities — from customer narratives to analyst briefings.
  • Build across software and services. Our combination of software and services is key to our success. Partner with our services leadership to deliver exceptional outcomes for customers and identify new revenue opportunities.
  • Develop your team. Hire, coach, and grow product managers. Create clarity on roles, raise the bar on craft, and build a high-performing PM culture.

What You Bring

  • 12+ years in product management with at least 5 years in B2B enterprise software in cybersecurity or an adjacent area, including experience managing or mentoring other PMs. You must be comfortable leading teams working on complex technical products.
  • Domain experience in security-adjacent products. You have deep working knowledge and experience in Cybersecurity and have worked on products where security, compliance, or risk management are a core part of the value proposition — not just a feature.
  • Market intelligence as a leadership skill. You're an exceptional researcher and synthesizer, and you've built processes that give your team a continuous, clear view of the competitive landscape, customer needs, and regulatory shifts.
  • AI aptitude. Our team uses AI for research, content generation, synthesis, and analysis. You are an AI Native thinker and you have built AI capabilities into products, used AI to automate product workflows, and can coach others to do the same.
  • Executive communication skills. As a fully remote organization, we rely on clear written communication and data to make decisions. You're comfortable presenting to and influencing C-level stakeholders.
  • GTM partnership mindset. You understand how product decisions connect to revenue and have a track record of partnering with sales, marketing, and customer success at a strategic level.

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
