Senior Concept Artist - Art - Studio

Role Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Concept Artist to join our studio, working on a dark, story-driven 'Narrative Adventure' with genre defining goals and realistic cinematic style. Collaborating with the Concept Art team, Art Director and wide range of development team members to ensure technical and collaborative execution.

Ideally we would love individuals to be based in the studio for 1-3 days per week, but we may consider those who have a preference for remote working in the UK.

What you'll be doing:

  • Research, coordinate and share visual materials pertinent to subject matter of task. To understand topics allowing to build strong conceptual art that inspires the team and delivers on the art direction goals of the project.
  • Versatile skills to design environments, props, production callouts, system interacts, high vision concept art, narrative sketches, keyframes, colour scripts, graphic design, marketing material and other visual guides and tasks as needed to assist the development team.
  • Solve complex artistic tasks and ensure team members’ needs are met.
  • Show initiative in setting tasks and engage in positive collaboration within a team with a peer review culture.
  • Attend meetings to communicate direction and requirements back to the concept team.

What we are looking for:

  • Experienced Concept Artist in games development.
  • Strong command of foundation art skills and visual design principles. An understanding of architecture, environments, anatomy & product design.
  • Proficient in Photoshop with an emphasis on drawing, painting and image making. Ability to work with and block out ideas in 3D as well as 2D depending on the needs of the task.
  • High quality digital art skills in realistic drawing, painting and rendering, perspective, composition, colour theory, design, anatomy and 2D and 3D design techniques.
  • Understanding of video game product development pipelines and the fundamentals of 3D engines and software.
  • Readiness to participate in peer reviews, whilst being able to work independently and closely with the team.
  • Able to self-prioritise tasks and deliver quality work within the agile framework and Jira.
  • Actively open to improving your skills and remain aware of developing industry techniques.
  • Good communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
