Role Overview:

We are looking for an experienced, driven planner with a background in Cinematic Production for games. You will be Leading interdisciplinary teams, including Camera, VFX and Lighting Artists, Editors, Cinematic Designers and Animators. 

You are an expert in collaborating across cinematic fields to make memorable, emotional, and cinematic experiences, with a strong understanding of Narrative, Cinematic Production and post-production pipelines within video games. 

As Lead Cinematic Producer you will work in partnership with the Production Director and other Lead Producers, to maintain the Cinematic workflow from conception to final delivery of cinematic sequences. Working collaboratively cross-discipline with designers, programmers, and audio teams to integrate cinematics seamlessly into gameplay to develop high-quality narrative gameplay experiences. 

This is an ambitious, AAA project with a heavy focus on atmosphere, storytelling, player agency and immersion into ground-breaking territory on next-generation hardware technologies. 

Ideally, individuals to be based in the studio for 1-3 days per week, to take advantage of on-site shoot facilities, but we may consider those who have a preference for remote working in the UK. 

What you'll be doing:

  • Leading the project management of the Cinematic pillar, overseeing several multi-discipline Feature Teams.
  • Being responsible for overall development strategy and roadmap, of the Cinematic Pillar, and how that integrates with the wider project roadmap.
  • Being accountable for the discipline, consistency, efficiency and quality of output of the teams, including all the work produced for key milestones.
  • Overseeing the day-to-day operations of the assigned Feature Team(s) through effectively leading the cinematic production team, and utilising project management tools to ensure deliverables are achieved to the expected quality.
  • Driving team focus through a continuously refined and maintained cinematic backlog and roadmap driven by effective priority management.
  • Working with the Principal Producer to ensure the roadmap delivers, to schedule, all mainline shoot dependencies.
  • Being responsible for controlling the scope vs capacity of the cinematic pillar and identifying outsource opportunities in collaboration with the Principal Producer.
  • Being accountable for the Risk Register for all Features Teams, reporting on risk, and working to mitigate it where possible. 

What we're looking for:

  • Minimum of two years of games industry experience in an internal development environment in a Cinematic Production leadership role.
  • At least one shipped PC and/or console title in a Senior production role.
  • An excellent understanding of Cinematic pipelines and is able to create and maintain timelines for cinematics production.
  • Ability to troubleshoot production challenges and devise creative solutions on the fly.
  • Flexibility to adjust plans and processes in response to new challenges, feedback or changes in scope.
  • Competence in using industry-standard software (e.g., JIRA, Shot Grid) and Bidding processes.
  • Confidence in challenging and effectively questioning bids from cinematic discipline leadership.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple stages of production simultaneously without compromising quality.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to deliver clear and effective communication to convey expectations, ideas and feedback
  • Experience working with high performing teams and demonstrated ability to partner effectively in a high pressure, collaborative environment.
  • Experience planning and working on motion capture shoots
  • Passion for the Medium: A genuine curiosity about video games and a dedication to crafting engaging, immersive experiences for players. 

Desirable Skills:

  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM).
  • Experience on multiple large scale, 150+ person AAA games through all phases of production from concept to release.
