Role Summary

This is a senior leadership role with company-wide accountability for the security, resilience, and governance of Firmus’s corporate technology ecosystem. You will own the enterprise IT roadmap and cybersecurity delivery function — ensuring our infrastructure, applications, and identity systems are secure, compliant, and built to support global hyperscale cloud growth with an initial focus on APAC.

Reporting to the CTO and working closely with the designated Chief Security Officer and Risk & Compliance team, you will be measured on defined business objectives around uptime, incident reduction, MTTD/MTTR, and audit outcomes. This role is central to maintaining customer trust and operational integrity as Firmus scales globally.

 

Key Responsibilities

Cyber Strategy & AI Readiness 

You will be Firmus’s strategic voice on emerging cyber threats — particularly those driven by AI advances including AI-powered attack vectors, deepfake social engineering, and adversarial techniques targeting infrastructure. You will maintain a forward-looking threat landscape assessment, stress-test defences through red-team exercises and tabletop simulations and develop out the cyber risk posture.

Infrastructure & Service Delivery 

You will lead all corporate IT infrastructure — networks, servers, storage, and cloud environments(Azure, AWS) — including the IT service desk and ITIL-aligned service management processes. You will define the target state of corporate IT, rationalise tools, and make clear buy vs. build vs. integrate decisions across our regions.

Applications & SaaS Estate 

You will own the corporate application portfolio, partnering with functional leads to translate business needs into well-supported systems. You will govern the SaaS estate (M365, Atlassian, Slack,HRIS, CRM, finance tools), including licence management, data classification, and data loss prevention.

Cyber Security & Risk Management 

You will execute the group-wide cybersecurity strategy – endpoint protection, identity management (MFA, SSO, RBAC/ABAC), threat detection, incident response, and vulnerability management. You will own the enterprise identity platform including Joiner-Mover-Leaver processes, oversee SOC/MDR operations, and support the delivery of the security awareness program and cyber risk reporting.

Compliance & Certification 

You will work with the Firmus Risk & Compliance team drive and maintain certifications including ISO 27001, SOC 2, IRAP, DISP and Singapore MAS TRM alignment.

Leadership & Governance 

You will support the CTO in defining IT strategy and managing annual planning and budgeting. You will build and lead a multi-disciplinary team spanning service desk, infrastructure, security engineering and security operations— owning people development and succession planning. You will manage strategic vendor relationships with defined SLAs, KPIs, and budget oversight.

 

What you Bring

You have a demonstrated track record of building IT and security capabilities from early-stage through to scale-up or hyperscale environments. You’ve led corporate IT and cyber for a cloud, SaaS, or infrastructure-heavy technology company — ideally across multiple regions and regulated customers. You think strategically about where threats are heading, not just where they are today, and you bring a proactive, intelligence-led approach to cyber defence. You communicate complextechnical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders, senior leadership, and Board-level audiences.

• 10+ years in IT and security, with at least 5 years in leadership roles managing teams and budgets

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Cyber Security or related field; Master’s degree or certifications (CISSP, CISM, ITIL) highly desirable

• Strong knowledge of cloud-first IT, zero trust principles, and security for remote/hybrid workforce

• Deep understanding of network architecture, enterprise identity (IdP, SSO, RBAC), and cybersecurity best practices

• Familiarity with AI/ML or high-performance compute environments is a strong advantage

• Experience with threat intelligence, red-teaming, or proactive security operations is highly valued

• Australian Government Negative Vetting 1 (NV1) security clearance as a minimum or have the ability to obtain NV1 (if required).
