Role Overview:

The core of our business revolves around retrieving and processing vast amounts of insurance carrier data. This isn’t just about moving numbers – this data enables our most critical platform features and powers the entire agency commission cycle.

As a Senior Backend Engineer in this role, you will own this domain. We need someone who thrives in data-heavy environments and can architect systems that handle diverse data configurations and varying levels of data quality with precision. You’ll work closely with Product, Design, Business, and Finance teams to prioritize, build, and monitor the systems that form the very backbone of our business.

What You’ll Do:

• Architect Data Pipelines: Design and own the systems responsible for processing massive datasets from 130+ different carriers, ensuring high availability and reliability
• Master Data Complexity: Build robust logic to handle various data configurations, ensuring accuracy in our crucial commission and platform features
• Ensure Data Quality: Implement advanced patterns and monitoring to identify and resolve data quality issues before they impact the business
• Scale Asynchronous Systems: Optimize our event-driven architecture to ensure seamless, real-time data processing at scale
• Cross-Functional Ownership: Collaborate with Finance and Business teams to translate complex data requirements into scalable technical solutions

We might be a match if:

• You have 6+ years of commercial experience with a heavy focus on backend systems and complex data processing
• You have a data-heavy expertise: Proven experience in building systems that handle large, diverse datasets and complex integrations
• You have technical Mastery: Proficiency with Node.js, TypeScript, NestJS, and PostgreSQL
• You gained architectural Excellence: Strong background in asynchronous system architecture and a sharp eye for good design patterns
• You have a Startup Mindset: High ownership and the ability to navigate ambiguity. We are looking for people who want to build and grow, not just maintain
• You are based in Poland with flexibility for partial US time zone overlap

• Advanced SQL & Optimization: Deep knowledge of PostgreSQL performance tuning, indexing strategies, and handling large-scale datasets
