SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES

FirstKey Homes is seeking a skilled Jira Administrator with strong expertise in workflow automation, ScriptRunner, and Atlassian platform administration. This role will serve as the organizational administrator for Jira Software, Jira Service Management, Confluence, and Tempo Timesheets, ensuring the platforms support efficient, scalable, and transparent team operations.

 

The ideal candidate will be passionate about building automation-driven solutions that simplify processes, streamline cross-team collaboration, and provide actionable reporting. This role will partner with Product, Development, QA, and Business stakeholders to design and maintain advanced Jira workflows, create dashboards and metrics, and ensure teams are equipped with the tools they need for delivery success.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Jira Administration & Automation

· Administer Jira Software and Jira Service Management at the organizational level.

· Design and maintain advanced workflows, custom fields, permissions, and screens.

· Develop automation solutions using ScriptRunner (Groovy-based) and native Jira Automation.

· Optimize system performance and reliability while ensuring governance and best practices.

Confluence Administration

· Manage spaces, permissions, and templates to support documentation and team knowledge sharing.

· Integrate Confluence with Jira for seamless project tracking and reporting.

Tempo Timesheets

· Serve as administrator for Tempo Timesheets, managing time-tracking structures.

· Support leadership with reporting and exports (including Power BI integrations).

Stakeholder Collaboration

· Partner with business and technical teams to translate goals into efficient intake boards, project structures, and dashboards.

· Develop and optimize reports using JQL and Jira dashboards to track Agile metrics such as velocity, cycle time, and throughput.

Documentation & Support

· Maintain documentation for Jira configurations, automation rules, and best practices.

· Provide Jira/Confluence support and training for end users to ensure adoption and effectiveness.

 

 

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

· Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience)

· 3–5+ years of hands-on Jira administration experience.

· Proficiency with ScriptRunner, Groovy scripting, and Jira Automation.

· Strong understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe).

· Experience administering Confluence and Tempo Timesheets.

· Proficiency with JQL for queries, filters, and dashboard creation.

· Strong collaboration and communication skills, with experience supporting cross-functional teams.

 

NICE TO HAVE

· Atlassian certifications (e.g., ACP-100, ACP-600, ACP-610).

· Experience integrating Jira with tools such as GitHub, Azure DevOps, or CI/CD pipelines.

· Familiarity with Power BI or other BI/reporting platforms.

· Exposure to enterprise security practices, SSO, and role-based access models.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS

· Fully remote (U.S.-based only).

· Collaboration with global (offshore) engineering teams.

· Occasional meetings across time zones.

· Primarily indoor/computer-based work.

· Agile Delivery — Metrics and reporting (velocity, cycle time, throughput).
