
Bank Operations Specialist
First National Bank of America is seeking a thorough and diligent Bank Operations Specialist to join the Branch Operations team. This role provides critical support to both the front-line branch team and back-office operations. This role ensures efficient, compliant, and accurate processing of financial transactions, supports customer account servicing, and assists with regulatory documentation and reporting. The ideal candidate will possess high level decision making and problem-solving skills with a significant attention to detail.
Responsibilities:
- Review and process tasks including CD clearing, unposted items, wire transfers, ACH, Accounting etc.
- Ensure timely and accurate scanning, filing, and archiving of customer and operational documents
- Assist in core banking system conversion and setup; Help with training and maintaining the new core banking system (Jack Henry Core Conversion)
- Perform daily, monthly, quarterly and annual reconciliation of internal transactions and reports
- Create branch resources in collaboration with deposit leadership and help with reporting to grow low cost deposits.
- Support audit preparation and participate in periodic internal control reviews.
- Adhere to Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Anti-Money Laundering (AML), and other compliance regulations
- Monitor and resolve transaction discrepancies, system exceptions, and fraud alerts
Qualifications:
- 2+ years banking experience, preferably in both branch banking and operational roles
- Strong understanding of banking systems and transaction types
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
- Adept in writing reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and core banking systems (Jack Henry if applicable)
