Financial Services Representative
First National Bank of America is seeking a proactive and adaptable Financial Services Representative to join the East Lansing Branch team. This role is the starting point of every great customer relationship at our branch. The Financial Services Representative blends the precision of teller operations with the interpersonal skills of a banker, giving hands-on experience across two of the most important functions in branch banking. It is the ideal entry point for someone who is service-oriented, detail-driven, and ready to build a career in financial services. From day one, this role helps build the skills needed to advance into the Personal Banker track and beyond.
Responsibilities:
- Process customer transactions accurately and efficiently — including deposits, withdrawals, transfers, loan payments, and cash handling — while balancing daily activity to operational standards.
- Deliver a welcoming, professional experience to every customer who visits the branch, resolving routine inquiries with confidence and care.
- Identify basic customer financial needs through everyday interactions and refer customers to the appropriate banking products, services, or team members.
- Educate customers on digital banking tools and self-service options to improve their convenience and long-term banking experience.
- Support branch sales activity through referrals, appointment setting, and participation in outbound calling efforts.
- Maintain strict compliance with all operational, security, risk, and regulatory policies in every transaction and customer interaction.
What We Are Looking For:
- A positive, customer-first attitude with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- High attention to detail and comfort working accurately with cash and financial transactions.
- Eagerness to learn both the operational and relationship sides of branch banking.
- Reliability, professionalism, and a team-oriented work ethic.
- Prior cash handling, customer service, or retail experience is a plus but not required.
Career Path:
This role is designed as the entry point into our branch banking career ladder. High-performing Financial Services Representatives are well-positioned to advance into the Personal Banker role as they develop their sales, service, and relationship management skills.
