JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Fisher\SMB Associate Retirement Counselor works on a team that collectively acts as the primary contacts for clients under $1M AUM. The Group Service team is responsible for resolving client issues, educating sponsors/administrators, building relationships and meeting the needs of plan sponsors, plan administrators and participants who need deeper investment education.
The service team’s experienced Retirement Plan Professionals are committed to a successful client experience. They coordinate with other service providers, contact clients at least quarterly, and respond to questions and requests. They serve as the point of contact for all Fisher\SMB Services, which are reinforced by Fisher\SMB Service Guarantee.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

- Responsible for handling inbound client requests, which includes providing administrative support and education, updates on Fisher\SMB's investment strategy, portfolio changes, market outlook, as well as reviewing objectives and options available through the plan.
- Accountable for conducting Annual Plan Reviews with each client and helping to educate them on their fiduciary responsibilities within the retirement plan.
- Facilitates and manages plan account setup, installation of plan at recordkeeper, coordinating participant enrollment, and asset transfer.
- Reviews plan committee structure and administrative policies/procedures on a recurring basis and uses recommends participant education and communication policies under ERISA 404(c).
- Presents fee benchmarking and other key information to support plan sponsor’s fiduciary obligations.
- Assists with development/maintenance of fiduciary audit file and document retention policies, coordinates and communicates investment-related participant disclosures, and develops. requirements for responding to participant requests.
- Interfaces with other Fisher\SMB teams and the Recordkeeper/TPA to ensure the plan is properly serviced.
- Lead coordination efforts with vendors of the plan (e.g. accountant, TPA, etc.) as needed
- Plan sizes supported range from startup plans to $1M in assets under management
- The Associate Retirement Counselor does not provide any advice or recommendations on investments and fully understands the need for such restriction
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required
- At least 2 years of experience in asset management and client services preferred
- Extensive knowledge of securities and markets and ability to apply knowledge in a variety of methods
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, particularly on the phone
- Strong orientation towards client service
- Experience in handling complex, sensitive, and high-profile clients preferred
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business news as well as write reports and business correspondence
- Strong qualitative and/or quantitative skills required
- Pro-active approach to problem solving
- Ability to analyze various situations and develop creative solutions
- High level of attention to detail
- Ability to adapt to changes in a fast paced, team environment
- Ability to prioritize workload and manage time across various tasks
- Proficient in Microsoft Office software
Additional Requirements:
- Ability to complete the examination requirements, or currently hold required securities licenses or a designation, to obtain registration as an Investment Adviser Representative
