Position Overview

The AI Business Transformation Lead is a leadership position tasked with integrating AI technologies into Flagship Pioneering's business processes and operational frameworks. This role is instrumental in defining the strategic direction, ensuring successful implementation, and driving organizational adoption of AI initiatives that enhance business efficiency, agility, and innovation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and articulate a clear strategic vision for AI-driven transformation in business processes.
  • Identify, evaluate, and prioritize business operations and workflows suitable for AI integration.
  • Oversee pilot projects to test AI applications and scale successful solutions across the organization.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to ensure strategic alignment and secure necessary resources.
  • Establish clear KPIs and tracking mechanisms to measure and communicate the effectiveness of AI solutions.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams including operations, technology, data science, and business stakeholders to ensure seamless AI integration.
  • Manage strategic partnerships with AI technology providers and vendors.
  • Ensure compliance with data privacy, governance, ethical AI use, and regulatory standards.
  • Promote AI literacy and drive cultural change within the organization through education and advocacy.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree (MBA, MS, PhD) strongly preferred.
  • 7+ years of experience in business transformation, operational excellence, or strategic leadership roles.
  • Demonstrated experience leading AI or technology-driven change initiatives within complex organizations.
  • Proven capability in managing and implementing strategic projects with measurable outcomes.
  • Deep understanding of AI technologies, including machine learning, predictive analytics, and process automation.
  • Demonstrated expertise in enhancing and optimizing business processes through the use of Enterprise Applications (such as ERP, CRM, HCM, ECM, etc.).
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Prior experience within biotech, pharmaceutical, or innovation-focused industries preferred.
  • Strong commitment to ethical standards, data governance, and regulatory compliance.

Reporting and Collaboration

This role reports directly to the CIO and requires active engagement across multiple departments including Business Operations (HR, Finance, Legal, Facilities), IT, Data Science, and external technology partners.
