Principal, Data and AI

Indianapolis, IN

Flaunt is a new loyalty software & AI services company building the Palantir of repeat revenue.

Our mission is to help e-commerce and retail businesses grow profitably by boosting repeat revenue and reducing fixed costs. With customer acquisition costs soaring and consumers becoming less brand-loyal, Flaunt’s custom loyalty software and AI services are proven to raise repeat revenue by +17%, while expanding retention capacity.

Flaunt is growing 4x year-over-year serving high-growth e-commerce brands like Barfaced, Magic Mind, and Flamingo Estate, as well as omni-channel businesses like Platinum Dermatology Partners and Sleep Number. We are hiring for key roles to scale our solution to the vast ecosystem of businesses using Shopify for e-commerce.

About this role:

As the Principal, Data & AI, you’ll be the ultimate data expert at Flaunt, contributing both to our consulting and software products. You will thrive on solving analytical problems, surfacing insights that clients have never seen before, and assisting in communicating solutions directly to clients alongside our Principal Consultants. You’ll also work directly with our engineers and other consultants to build out our AI Data Analyst, using our agentic frameworks to enable our Retention Consultants and end-clients to get self-serve access to YOU in a scalable way.

This role is perfect for someone that has principal-level capabilities and senior/leadership-level executive presence and business awareness that wants to be at the bleeding edge of practical applications of generative AI to the data role.

What you’ll do:

You will be an integrated member of our product development and consulting teams. You will build financial models, write SQL, create data visualizations, and build recommendation models. As you deliver work, you will build templates and work with engineers to create our AI Data Analyst product. You will extensively analyze and automate complex analysis workflows to help scale our consulting. You will own and define the data function at Flaunt in collaboration with the CEO, and over time, guide and influence the evolution of the data team.

  • Build and own the financial models and spreadsheet templates for campaigns, loyalty programs, ROI tracking, and more in Google Sheets
  • Respond to data requests from clients and internal consultants with data visualizations and actionable business insights using our data stack (BigQuery, Looker Studio, Google Sheets, Airbyte)
  • Contribute and help define our AI Loyalty Team product, including templatizing your SQL queries into our agentic framework to enable self-serve insights from our consultants and our clients
  • Analyze the workflow of our Retention Consultants to help them get more deliverables done weekly, merging project management with KPI and ROI tracking and building agentic workflows that help them prepare for strategic presentations and provide deep insights in weekly reports.
  • Be a true startup hero, eagerly wearing whatever hat is necessary to use your talents to help Flaunt succeed.

What you’ll need:

  • Extensive experience in data analysis & engineering: Advanced SQL skills (preferably in bigquery) for querying and manipulating large datasets, plus a track record of building and maintaining data pipelines, financial models, and recommendation models.
  • Experience with ML and enthusiasm for generative AI and Agents: Familiarity with agentic AI frameworks or ML-driven solutions that seamlessly integrate into data workflows.
  • Technical toolset mastery: Deep knowledge of Google Sheets/Excel for financial modeling, Looker Studio (or comparable tools) for data visualization, and data integration platforms (like Airbyte).
  • Leadership & collaboration skills: Proven ability to define data strategy at a senior level, partner directly with executives, and guide the development of a data team in a startup environment.
  • Business acumen & client-facing skills: Strong executive presence and business acumen for translating data insights into actionable growth strategies, plus the communication skills to articulate complex findings to varied audiences.
  • Startup mindset: Willingness to tackle diverse responsibilities, adapt quickly, and contribute to rapid growth in a fast-paced setting.
  • Focus on productization: Ability to templatize data solutions and feed them into a scalable AI data analyst product, shaping data best practices and processes as the company evolves.

Compensation range: $150,000-$200,000 annual salary based on experience

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
