Event Marketing Specialist

We are looking for an energetic Event Marketing Specialist to execute our event strategy. We want someone that is excited to put their deep event experience and creativity to work in an effort to drive event lead generation, speaking engagements, brand exposure, and best-in-class event follow-up strategies.

What you'll be doing

  • Execute our in-person and virtual event strategy, including organizing trade show participation, sponsorships, speaking opportunities, webinars, etc. to elevate our brand, position Fleetio as a thought leader, and drive quality leads
  • Manage a comprehensive event calendar and budget; explore new event opportunities
  • Coordinate logistics for in-person events such as booking booth space, ordering booth services, arranging shipping, installing/dismantling booth properties, and coordinating what’s needed in terms of booth materials, A/V equipment, marketing collateral, promotional giveaways, and travel
  • Conduct pre-event walkthroughs with on-site attendees so everyone knows where to be and what to expect
  • Plan and manage the execution of webinars and other digital programs, including logistics, staffing coordination, platform configuration and promotions
  • Plan and manage the execution of Fleetio-hosted events, such as field marketing events and sales kickoffs
  • Handle individual event budgets, with focus on delivering high quality leads and generating pipeline, while maximizing the return on investment of each event
  • Define success metrics and goals for events; utilize Salesforce to track event attendee activity and report on ROI
  • Work with the Demand Gen team to plan and execute pre-, during and post-event nurture and engagement programs
  • Coordinate with Business Operations and Sales teams to ensure show registration lists and leads acquired are added to Salesforce and distributed to the appropriate teams
  • Partner closely with internal subject matter experts that speak at external events, ensuring they know the where/when/why/how to execute at their best

Requirements

  • 2+ years of proven successful event marketing and execution
  • This role is located in Birmingham, AL so that the events person has physical access to and can coordinate logistics for all events booth properties and materials at Fleetio HQ
  • Willingness to travel approximately 30% of the time
  • Experience leading and executing top-to-bottom event participation and sponsorship contracts, then fulfilling the deliverables, including booth selection, lead retrieval, collateral, promotion, engagement, etc.
  • Experience creating and adhering to event budgets and reporting on ROI
  • Excellent organizational skills to work independently and efficiently, managing projects with many moving parts and solving problems quickly
  • Strong attention to detail, execution and follow through; ability to work on deliverables with tight timelines and to handle the need to pivot with professional poise
  • In-depth knowledge of managing speaker preparation with executive and senior leaders
  • Be assertive, results-oriented and driven; passionate about using data to drive strategy
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills: whether writing or speaking, you’re able to express ideas clearly and powerfully, always taking into consideration brand voice and intended audience
  • Strong collaboration skills- both externally and across multiple Fleetio teams
  • Experience with project management platforms, Salesforce, presentation creation (i.e. Google Slides, PowerPoint, etc.)
