About the role
We are seeking a highly skilled and strategic Staff User Experience Researcher to join our dynamic team. As a Staff User Experience Researcher, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the user experience by conducting comprehensive research, interpreting data, and providing actionable insights to inform product and design decisions and company strategy.
The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of user behavior, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to translate research findings into strategic recommendations. They will be able to analyze and proactively break our highest impact problems into clear and testable hypotheses, and be the driver for how we approach validating them. They will bring the high degree of strategic thinking that allows them to rise above lower-order research and drive insights at the company and market level.
This is a hybrid position with on-site expectations of 3 days per week in our New York Headquarters. For candidates outside of the NY/NJ area, you may be eligible for our relocation assistance program.
What you’ll do
- Plan - Collaborate with Product/Design leadership and cross-functional teams to identify and define research objectives, then establish, maintain and communicate a high-impact research roadmap aligned with the product strategy and roadmap.
- Collect - Design and run usability tests, surveys, and other data collection and evaluation methods to understand our target users’ needs, behaviors, and attitudes. You’ll help discover untapped market opportunities, better define our customers, and support teams in evaluating their approaches.
- Inform - Prepare and present clear, concise, and actionable reports of research findings and recommendations to stakeholders, including the C-suite.
- Influence - Be highly collaborative with stakeholders, founders and cross-functional teams to proactively integrate research insights into product and company strategy and roadmaps, with the aim of guiding product decisions towards increased chance of success, and to find opportunities to share knowledge that fosters a culture of continuous learning.
- Maintain - Establish, maintain and scale a growing knowledge base to ensure democratized and efficient access to past learnings.
- Advise - Guide the Product and Design team where they “self-serve” research to ensure they follow best practices to yield high quality, meaningful results.
Key qualifications
- 5+ years of relevant professional experience as a researcher for consumer software
- Demonstrable proficiency in many qualitative and quantitative research methods and analysis, including survey design/analysis and experiment design/analysis
- Experience in early-stage and fast-paced consumer-forward tech companies
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate complex concepts clearly and effectively to stakeholders of all levels, including the C-Suite
- No ego; the focus is always on getting to the right answers and insights, and doing what is right for the company and customer.
The compensation range for this role will be commensurate with the candidate's experience and Flex's internal leveling guidelines and benchmarks.
For working locations in NY/NJ/CA, the base salary pay range will be $207,000 - $230,000
