About the role
As a Staff Decision Scientist on the Risk Policy team, you will leverage data to develop insights and implement risk policies aimed at maximizing customer lifetime value (LTV). This is a high-impact role that blends analytical expertise, strategic thinking, and cross-functional collaboration to drive Flex’s mission forward.
What you’ll do
- Data Analysis & Problem-Solving: Analyze large, complex datasets to tackle diverse challenges using advanced analytical and statistical techniques.
- Modeling & Forecasting: Develop and implement forecasting models to predict key performance metrics and assess their actual performance.
- Decision Support: Use quantitative analysis, data mining, experimentation, and forecasting to uncover trends and inform decision-making.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Product, Engineering, Finance, Operations, and Data Science teams to deliver actionable insights.
- Tools & Reporting: Build sophisticated reporting and analytics tools to empower stakeholders with real-time, data-driven decision-making capabilities.
- Performance Monitoring: Design and develop metrics and dimensions to track and evaluate product and business performance.
- Strategic Communication: Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders, including senior leadership, in clear and concise formats.
Key qualifications
- Bachelor's degree is in Statistics or an equivalent quantitative field
- 8+ years solid risk analytics experience
- Experience in data mining and analysis tools such as Python/ SQL etc
- Experience with vintage forecasting, CCAR models, roll rate forecasting, and delinquency forecasting
- Exceptional stakeholder management skills, with a proven ability to collaborate and influence across functions
- Robust business acumen, strategic thinking skills, and the ability to make informed judgments
- Prior experience in the technology industry or a fast-paced, data-driven environment is preferred
- Prior experience with underwriting/pricing strategy for consumer finance product a strong preference
- For working locations in NY, the base salary pay range will be $209,000-$225,000
- For all other states, the base salary pay range will be $188,000-203,000
