Senior Director of Product, Rent

New York, New York, United States

Flex is a growth-stage, NYC headquartered FinTech company that is creating the best rent payment experience. It’s hard to believe that it’s 2025 and paying rent on time is expensive, inflexible, and difficult. We’re here to change that! Flex enables our users to pay rent throughout the month on a schedule that better fits their finances and budget. Our mission is to empower as many renters as possible with flexibility over their most significant recurring expense. After deliberately keeping a stealth profile as we built up unprecedented investor support and an enthusiastic user base, we are looking for motivated individuals to help us keep our mission growing. Will you be a part of the team?

About the Role

We’re hiring a Senior Director of Consumer Product, Rent to own the backbone of the Flex user experience and supporting funnels—acquisition, onboarding, activation, core retention, and all of the new bets related to our core product, Flexible Rent. You’ll architect the product vision that powers every current and future rent touchpoint, lead and grow a team of PMs and cross-functional partners, and ensure our core surfaces stay reliable, delightful, and regulation-ready as we significantly scale the business.

This role will report to our VP of Consumer Product, and work directly with the GM of our Core business.

This is a hybrid position with on-site expectations of 3 days per week in our New York Headquarters. For candidates outside of the NY/NJ area, you may be eligible for our relocation assistance program.

What you’ll do

  • Set the product vision & strategy for Core Consumer: define the north-star experience, align exec stakeholders, and translate it into an 18-month, KPI-tied roadmap.
  • Lead & develop a high-performing team of Product Managers. You’ll coach them on discovery, execution, and career growth while fostering an inclusive, high-ownership culture.
  • Build products across the core area: from Acquisition and MarTech to Onboarding to our core user experience, you will build everything in our core ecosystem. You will harden the core and also build out new bets that are deeply connected to growth of our flagship product.
  • Drive holistic consumer experience: partner with Growth, Design, Engineering, Risk, Data, GTM, and Customer Ops to ensure every Flex renter enjoys a seamless journey from first click to final payment.
  • Own P&L impact for Core Consumer: set targets, manage budgets, and use data to optimize unit economics, conversion, retention, and NPS.
  • Raise the craft bar: champion product quality, system thinking, and experimentation; institute best-in-class rituals (PRDs, reviews, retros) across the Consumer org.

  • Represent Consumer at the exec level—present progress to our leadership team, influence company-wide investment decisions, and be the voice of our members in strategic discussions.

Key qualifications

  • 10+ years in product management, with 4+ years managing PM managers in high-growth consumer or fintech environments.

  • Proven success shipping and scaling consumer or payments products to millions of users under stringent regulatory and quality requirements.

  • Systems thinker & operator: adept at mapping complex domains, spotting dependencies, and structuring roadmaps that compound over time.

  • Analytical leader: comfortable with SQL / Sigma, experiment design, and modeling business scenarios; use data to drive decisions and coach the team.

  • People-first executive: exceptional communicator who inspires, aligns, and challenges cross-functional partners and senior leadership.

  • Bias for action, humility, and a passion for Flex’s mission of making rent work for everyone.

The compensation range for this role will be commensurate with the candidate's experience and Flex's internal leveling guidelines and benchmarks. For working locations in NY/NJ/CA, the base salary pay range will be $276,000 - $302,000.

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
