Sales Engineer

About the role
As a Sales Engineer, you’ll play a critical role in supporting our Account Executives and helping Flex scale new logo acquisition and whitespace expansion within existing accounts. This role sits at the intersection of technical expertise, storytelling, and strategic selling—supporting deal cycles with compelling, consultative guidance that drives adoption of Flex’s solutions across the rental housing ecosystem.
You’ll partner closely with the sales org led by our VP of Sales and play an essential role in articulating the value of Flex in a way that resonates with property managers, owners, and operators—turning complexity into clarity and opportunity into action.
This is a hybrid position with preference for candidates based in the New York City area (3 days/week in office).
What you’ll do
- Partner with Account Executives to support full-cycle sales efforts, from discovery through demos and technical validation
- Help drive unit acquisition by tailoring Flex’s value proposition to the prospect’s systems and workflows (Yardi, RealPage, Entrata, etc.)
- Simplify and clearly communicate Flex’s integration model, roadmap, and implementation process for technical and non-technical buyers
- Lead product demos, proof-of-concept conversations, and technical deep dives to influence decision-makers and cross-functional stakeholders
- Support expansion conversations by identifying white space within existing portfolios and helping craft persuasive technical stories
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Marketing, and Partner Success to ensure sales strategies align with roadmap and messaging
- Serve as a voice of the customer—surfacing market feedback and product insights to internal teams
- Represent Flex at key industry events, trade shows, and customer-facing sessions alongside the sales team
Key qualifications
- 5+ years in Sales Engineering, Solutions Consulting, or B2B SaaS Sales roles
- Strong technical fluency with property management systems (e.g., Yardi, RealPage, Entrata) or the ability to quickly ramp
- Experience working with or selling into the multifamily, PropTech, or FinTech space is preferred (but not required)
- Exceptional presentation and communication skills—you know how to craft a story that sticks
- Strategic thinker with a consultative, solutions-first approach
- Highly collaborative with the ability to engage across levels—from on-site property teams to C-suite executives
- Goal-oriented self-starter with strong time management and follow-through
- Comfortable with travel to support field sales and industry events
The compensation range for this role will be commensurate with the candidate's experience and Flex's internal leveling guidelines and benchmarks. For working locations in NY/NJ, the OTE pay range will be $161,000-$197,000.
