Treasury Accounting Manager

About the role
The Treasury Accounting Manager at Flex plays a critical role in ensuring accurate, timely, and transparent accounting of all fund flows across our growing financial infrastructure. This role serves as the key liaison between Accounting and Treasury, overseeing the tracking of cash inflows and outflows, managing intercompany transactions, and documenting policies around money movement, bank account usage, and entity allocations. By maintaining strong controls, partnering cross-functionally, and enhancing visibility into real-time cash activity, this position ensures that Flex can scale its mission of bringing flexibility and transparency to rent payments with confidence and financial integrity.
What you’ll do
- Support daily and month-end treasury accounting responsibilities, including preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, and cash flow reporting related to fund movements across Flex’s funding infrastructure
- Responsible for the accurate accounting and tracking of all fund flows between Flex’s bank accounts, payment processor accounts, and internal data, ensuring alignment with financial reporting requirements
- Maintain and reconcile intercompany transactions across multiple subsidiary entities, including consolidation and elimination entries, and ensure proper documentation and controls are enforced
- Monitor and review transactions with banking partners pertaining to loans made to customers, ensuring that all activity is reflected in financial records when they occur
- Prepare and review treasury-related balance sheet account reconciliations and ensure that all bank accounts are captured and reflected appropriately in the financial statements
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Treasury, Product, and FP&A teams to ensure proper integration of financial systems with operational processes related to fund movement and repayment flows
- Assist in the design, documentation, and execution of internal controls related to treasury operations, intercompany activity, and payment processor flows, ensuring readiness for audits and compliance requirements
- Identify and implement process improvements to streamline treasury accounting operations, reduce risk, and increase visibility into cash and fund flow activity.
Key qualifications
- 8+ years accounting experience in financial environment
- Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently.
- Bachelor’s degree (B. A) in Accounting
- Strong working knowledge of digital payment process, including payment processors
- Hands on experience with contract reviews and due diligence
- Proven self-starter with a strong sense of ownership, communication and analytical business acumen
- CPA or equivalent is highly desirable
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks simultaneously and handle adverse and urgent situations with rapid changes in priorities.
- Proven time management and project management ability.
- Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
- Experience working for a digital payments, financial services or mobile money provider is a plus
- Working knowledge of financial regulations, compliance, and best practices in risk management
- Experience in fintech is preferred
- This role will be at the NYC Headquarters as hybrid schedule working 3 days in the office
The pay range for this role is $120,000-$131,000 in base salary. Individual compensation will be commensurate with the candidate's experience aligned with Flex's internal leveling guidelines and benchmarks.
