Senior Site Reliability Engineer

We are looking for a Senior Site Reliability Engineer who will be responsible for the tools and processes at the company that provide consistency and reliability for internal engineering customers. This job reports to our Security and Infrastructure Engineering Manager.
This is a hybrid position based in Seattle, WA. Team members are expected to work in-office three days a week (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday), with remote work on Monday and Friday.
Job Responsibilities:
[40%] Platform Reliability & Observability
- Design, implement, and maintain systems and tools that enhance the reliability, consistency, and performance of Flexe’s engineering platform.
- Develop and manage metrics, logging, and monitoring strategies to ensure real-time visibility into system health.
- Define and refine alerting strategies to ensure timely and actionable responses.
[30%] Infrastructure as Code & Automation
- Automate infrastructure provisioning and management using Terraform or equivalent tools.
- Reduce manual toil by developing and integrating automated processes across the engineering toolchain.
- Ensure infrastructure is consistent, secure, and compliant with best practices.
[20%] Cross-Team Collaboration & Enablement
- Partner closely with other engineering teams to understand their needs and deliver scalable solutions.
- Provide internal support and education around reliability best practices, SRE principles, and tooling adoption.
- Act as a bridge between development and operations, improving deployment pipelines and workflows.
[10%] Continuous Improvement & Documentation
- Document systems, tools, and processes thoroughly to support team onboarding and long-term maintenance.
- Identify reliability gaps and continuously iterate on systems to improve developer confidence and velocity.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in software engineering, reliability engineering, devops, or platform engineering roles.
- Proven experience implementing infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform), and automating infrastructure and operational workflows.
- Strong background with cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, or Azure); ability to manage resources and deployments at scale.
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, including managing clusters and related ecosystem tools.
- Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines and monitoring/logging systems for distributed environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including use of GKE (Google Kubernetes Engine).
- Familiarity with ISTIO service mesh or similar service discovery and traffic control tools.
- Advanced experience with Terraform for cloud infrastructure management.
- Strong understanding of SRE best practices including SLAs, SLOs, and error budgeting.
The salary range for this role is $163,250 to $229,900 depending, in part, on candidate location. Recruiting will confirm the specific range for the candidate location in the initial phone screen. All employees receive company equity as part of their compensation package.
