Enterprise Physical Security Installation Supervisor
The Enterprise Physical Security Applications Engineer position is responsible for ensuring the integrity of Flexential sites through the management of Physical Security systems.
Candidates should be motivated and willing to take on challenges, able to multi-task, collaborate, and have strong communication and customer service skills.
As a Physical Security specialist, you will be responsible for assisting local site operations teams with issues related to the badging systems, provide audit support internally and externally, and assist with identifying physical security gaps in process and procedure. Additionally, you will be responsible for maintaining centralized access control systems for a national footprint and coordinating vendor technicians at remote sites for troubleshooting and construction.
Key Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions
- Act as a physical security subject matter expert and Flexential representative for interactions with employees, customers and vendors.
- Lead project initiatives related to the design and construction of physical security environments, standards and systems in new construction and retrofit projects.
- Lead efforts in the configuration of servers, workstations, panels and other programmable components.
- Be the primary point of contact for physical security system issues.
- Manage projects and vendors through industry accepted standards.
- Design, implement and manage new physical security systems.
- Audit, troubleshoot and maintain existing physical security systems.
- Effectively communicate with end users of the physical security systems.
- Proactively and effectively manage ticketing system, issuing priorities and organizing work flow while leveraging available resources for break / fix, installation and maintenance related issues.
- Work closely with compliance and audit teams to meet required expectations of the standards.
- Critically evaluate physical security strategy and controls to identify opportunities for continuous improvement, cost reduction, and efficiency gains.
- Lead cross-functional team initiatives by performing security assessments, identifying, and prioritizing opportunities to manage risk, communicating clear requirements, and partnering collaboratively with stakeholders.
- Coordinate with cross-functional partners to understand, document, and communicate physical security requirements for all construction, retrofit, and implementation projects.
- Create, mature, and improve internal processes and workflows to support physical security within a dynamic and rapidly growing organization.
- Create, maintain, and improve training documentation for physical security processes and procedures.
- Identify and justify compensatory approaches to meeting physical security requirements.
- Clearly communicate information to teams consisting of technical and non-technical audiences across a range of levels in the company to ensure messaging is clear, concise, and consistent.
- Educate teammates and partners on risks, vulnerabilities, standards, and policies, driving and reinforcing a security awareness culture.
- Provide an escalation path for operations teams as part of the On Call rotation with other team members.
- Prepare status reports for current activities and projects.
- Collaborate and consult with key technical staff to design solutions that meet business requirements.
- Participate in Incident Management during system outages.
- Partner with Design Teams during primary phases of site new builds and retrofits.
Required Qualifications
- 7-10 Years of relevant technical experience with low voltage systems; access control, closed circuit television (IP video products), and intrusion alarms.
- 7-10 Years of relevant experience programming, implementing and maintaining access control, closed circuit television (IP video products), and intrusion systems.
- 7-10 Years of relevant experience managing projects and personnel in a multi-location / matrix environment.
- 7-10 Years of experience in researching and procuring relevant technologies and labor resources.
- 7-10 years of experience installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting electrified and mechanical locking mechanisms for a variety of access points.
- Ability to create, read and understand engineered site plans, floor plans, blueprints, and system schematics.
- Proficient in Genetec or like system architecture.
- High competency in networking, switch configuration and firewall principals.
- Proficient knowledge of low voltage security systems, devices, relays, sensors, electronic locking hardware, and mechanical devices.
- Proficient knowledge of network design and devices (RS485 and Ethernet).
- Proficient in interpreting operating manuals and component drawings as well as developing procedures for the proper operation of the equipment.
- Ability to use and instruct others in testing equipment such as multi-meters and circuit tracers in low voltage troubleshooting.
- Ability to organize maintenance schedules, coordinate vendor activities, and develop problem resolutions.
- Proficient with both Change Management and Incident Management processes.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Genetec Certification or willingness to complete within 6 months.
- Think clearly and abstractly, in high pressure situations, to resolve critical issues with high risks for business interruption.
- Relevant industry knowledge and ability to adapt to future technology changes.
- Ability to work independently with minimal or no supervision.
- Candidate should also be able to work well with others in a team environment.
- Has excellent written and verbal skills and the ability to communicate with end users of the physical security systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- ASIS Certification.
- Experience with Windows Server and Video Management Systems software.
- Experience with Visio and CAD.
- Knowledge of relevant software and hardware applications related to Physical Security (i.e. Genetec and like systems).
- Good working knowledge of Service Now or other ticket management systems.
- Certifications in IT related hardware/software:
- Networking infrastructure.
- Databases creation and management.
- Software application management.
- Experience in leading and managing projects and initiatives.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
- Moderate or advanced keyboard usage.
Compensation
Base Pay Range
Annualized salary range offered for this position is estimated to be $96,000 - $106,000. However, the actual pay range depends on each candidate’s experience, location, and qualifications.
Variable Pay
Discretionary annual bonus, based on personal and company performance.
