Program Manager, Cloud & Data Protection

Atlanta, GA; Charlotte, NC; Dallas, TX; Denver, CO; Philadelphia, PA; Portland, OR; Tampa, FL

The Program Manager, Cloud & Data Protection accelerates product development and innovation by creating the clarity, governance, and cross-functional execution discipline needed to move high-priority initiatives from concept through launch. The role builds integrated plans, aligns owners and dependencies, removes delivery barriers, and drives timely decisions and commitments. By providing structure around execution, this individual enables Product Managers, Architects, and Analysts to spend more time on customer insight, product strategy, solution design, and innovation while giving Product leadership a clear view of portfolio health, delivery confidence, and required interventions.

Key Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions

Program and Portfolio Management

  • Translate product direction into integrated execution plans with clear outcomes, milestones, owners, dependencies, risks, and decisions.
  • Maintain an integrated view of assigned programs, assess delivery confidence, and recommend sequencing, priority, or resource tradeoffs when constraints threaten outcomes.
  • Lead recurring program and portfolio reviews that document commitments, resolve blockers, and escalate unresolved risks with clear impacts, options, and required decisions.

Program Governance and Delivery Standards

  • Apply the Product Development Lifecycle as a practical execution framework, ensuring stage-gate criteria, required deliverables, readiness decisions, and approvals are completed without unnecessary delay.
  • Establish fit-for-purpose program controls, including integrated plans, risk, assumption, issue, and dependency logs; RACI matrices; decision records; launch-readiness criteria; and executive status reporting.
  • Identify systemic causes of delay, simplify cross-functional handoffs, and coach initiative owners on governance, escalation, and effective use of supporting tools.

Cross-Functional Stakeholder Management

  • Partner with Product Managers to convert product priorities and innovation concepts into executable programs while preserving their ownership of customer insight, product strategy, business outcomes, and roadmap direction.
  • Manage cross-functional dependencies and resolve conflicts involving scope, timelines, requirements, handoffs, or resource commitments, escalating decisions when working teams cannot align.
  • Represent assigned programs in cross-functional planning, governance, and executive review forums.

Portfolio Reporting and Executive Visibility

  • Maintain reliable portfolio reporting on milestones, risks, dependencies, decisions, capacity constraints, and recovery actions so leaders can assess delivery confidence and intervene when needed.
  • Coordinate program inputs to roadmap reviews, quarterly business reviews, and resource-planning discussions, presenting clear impacts, options, and recommended tradeoffs.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, information systems, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5+ years of experience leading complex, cross-functional projects or programs within a technology, cloud, infrastructure, or managed services organization.
  • Demonstrated experience owning complex cross-functional programs from planning through completion, including integrated schedules, risks, dependencies, executive communications, and delivery recovery.
  • Strong command of project and program management disciplines, with experience establishing governance, managing scope and change, resolving dependencies, and improving delivery practices.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and priorities independently.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex program information into concise executive updates, decision requests, risk assessments, tradeoff recommendations, and recovery plans.
  • Proficiency with project or portfolio management tools such as Smartsheet, Asana, Jira, or Monday.com, along with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, with demonstrated ability to build integrated schedules, risk, assumption, issue, and dependency logs; RACI matrices; decision records; and executive program reporting.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience leading programs within a Product Management, cloud, managed services, or infrastructure technology environment and partnering effectively with Product Managers, Product Architects, Engineering, and operational teams.
  • Familiarity with product development lifecycle (PDLC) frameworks and stage-gate or agile methodologies.
  • Experience assessing resource constraints across complex programs and developing practical sequencing, tradeoff, or recovery recommendations.
  • PMP, PgMP, or a similar project or program management certification.
  • Experience leading complex partner or vendor workstreams that affect product development milestones, technical readiness, or launch outcomes.

Physical Requirements

  • This position is primarily office-based and may be performed in a hybrid or remote environment.
  • Ability to remain stationary for extended periods while working on a computer, participating in meetings, and reviewing documents.
  • Ability to occasionally move and transport light materials such as a laptop, notebook, or training materials.
