Flipp's FP&A (Financial Planning & Analysis) team supports strategic decision-making through proactive insights and business analysis. FP&A drives informed decision-making and sustainable growth to the organization by optimizing our financial performance.
The Senior Finance Business Partner plays a critical role in driving strategic and operational decision-making across the Product organization. This role will lead financial partnership on key product initiatives, including bottom-up opportunity sizing, product profitability assessments, and business case development to support long-term product strategy. With a strong focus on Opex planning, headcount and FTE analysis, and investment tracking, the Business Partner ensures resources are allocated efficiently and in alignment with roadmap priorities. By combining financial expertise with a deep understanding of the product landscape, the role enables proactive planning, supports investment decisions, and ensures people and strategic initiatives generate measurable value. In addition, this role supports core FP&A responsibilities such as forecasting, budgeting, performance reporting, and ad hoc analysis to inform both day-to-day operations and long-range planning.
What you'll get the opportunity to do:
- Finance Business Partner & Strategic Support
- Act as a strategic finance partner to leaders, providing data-driven insights to inform technical and operational decisions
- Analyze and translate financial data into actionable recommendations that support headcount planning, vendor/resource spend, and long-range investments
- Investigate variances between actuals and forecasts, and advise on ROI improvement opportunities. Collaborate closely with leadership to update forecasts and challenge key assumptions
- Forecasting, Budgeting & Planning
- Lead and support monthly forecasts, annual budget cycles, and long-range planning for spend
- Partner with HR and leaders to manage and forecast headcount and contractor resources, track open roles against plan, and align staffing plans with roadmap priorities
- Performance Reporting & Financial Analysis
- Prepare monthly financial reports, analyze variances, and monitor key business metrics
- Identify trends, risks, and opportunities to inform leadership and support strategic trade-offs
- Ad Hoc Analysis & Process Improvement
- Develop robust financial models and scenario analyses to support product investments, hiring plans, and strategic initiatives with a focus on ROI and long-term value creation
- Partner with Product to conduct bottom-up opportunity sizing, unit economics modelling, pricing and monetization analysis, and investment prioritization to inform roadmap decisions
- Drive continuous improvement of financial processes, reporting tools, and automation to enhance visibility into product performance and enable proactive, data-driven decisions
- Build scalable reporting frameworks that track product-level profitability, metrics, and spend efficiency to support both tactical decisions and long-range planning
What you'll bring to the team:
- 6+ years of accounting and/or finance experience, experience in an FP&A environment is an asset
- CPA in progress/completed is an asset
- Strong relationship-management skills and the ability to influence decision-making among senior stakeholders
- Strong Business Acumen that can quickly learn how Flipp works, experience in two-sided marketplace businesses is considered an asset
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail to research and escalate issues.
