Job Summary
As Manager of Contractual Pricing, you’ll lead the team responsible for developing and executing strategic pricing for long-term customer agreements. You’ll collaborate across Sales, Operations, Product,Data Science, and Finance to build scalable solutions that balance customer value with margin goals. In addition to owning pricing strategy, you’ll mentor analysts, drive process improvements, and deliver insights that shape broader commercial decisions. Your work will be highly visible, with regular engagement and reporting to senior leadership to guide pricing direction and business strategy.
Responsibilities:
- Own the end-to-end pricing strategy for contractual opportunities, including annual RFPs, custom proposals, and long-term agreements.
- Partner closely with Sales to align pricing with customer requirements, market dynamics, and profitability targets.
- Lead pricing analysts in the design and execution of innovative, data-driven solutions tailored to client-specific needs.
- Evaluate and refine pricing methodologies based on historical data, competitive benchmarks, and margin performance.
- Develop clear pricing models, tools, and templates to improve speed and consistency in the quote process.
- Monitor and report on contract performance, proactively identifying areas for optimization or renegotiation.
- Act as a key liaison between departments to ensure pricing strategies are scalable, aligned with internal capabilities, and reflective of market realities.
- Present recommendations to senior leadership, backed by clear analysis and strategic insight.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in pricing, analytics, or revenue management, preferably within transportation or logistics.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional pricing initiatives and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Expertise in Excel, SQL, and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
- Strong understanding of supply chain networks, carrier cost structures, and margin optimization techniques.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and a proactive mindset.
- Proven ability to mentor and develop analytical talent.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with experience translating complex analysis into actionable strategies.
- Must be located in Chicago, IL or San Diego, CA.
The expected on-target earnings range for this position is $125,000.00 - $150,000 per year. This range reflects typical earning potential in this role. When determining an offer, we take into account a variety of factors that are important in making compensation decisions including, but not limited, to: skill sets; experience and tenure; education and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate is based on market data. Salary bands may, in some circumstances, be adjusted to a different geographic area depending on the candidate's position and location. This role is based out of Chicago, IL.
