Director of Growth Marketing
About Flock
There are 17 million Americans who own rental property. Most don't want to be landlords anymore, but selling isn’t a good option. Why? You’d lose income and appreciation, trigger tax liabilities, kick out your tenants, have to fix up the house – the list goes on! Flock is here to help.
Flock’s mission is to provide every retiring landlord with the most cost-efficient and seamless exit. Our first product is a tech-enabled 721 Exchange for Single Family Rental landlords. Owners contribute properties into our professionally managed Fund, in exchange for passive equity ownership. It's a modern UPREIT model designed for sophisticated owners who want access to continued cashflows, liquidity, and diversification without triggering capital gains, disturbing tenants, or dealing with disposition friction. We’re now growing fast into the commercial and multifamily space and are looking for smart, entrepreneurial hustlers who want to help build something category-defining.
We recently raised our Series B, led by Renegade Partners, and are also backed by other top tier investors, including Andreessen Horowitz, Primary Ventures, SUSA Ventures, 1Sharpe Ventures, and leaders from Invitation Homes and Opendoor.
About the Role
Flock is seeking a Director of Growth Marketing to lead the strategy and storytelling that will define our next stage of growth. Your core focus will be on customer segmentation, messaging, content creation, and in-person events that build trust, awareness, and engagement with property owners and partners.
This is a strategy + execution role with an emphasis on narrative, thought leadership, and community building. While day-to-day management of paid channels will be handled by external partners, you’ll bring the analytical rigor to evaluate their performance (CAC, ROI, channel efficiency) and the strategic lens to recommend where we should double down or test new growth channels.
This is a rare opportunity to build a marketing function from the ground up at a company that has already achieved strong traction. We’ve raised our Series B, have clear product-market-fit, and are growing fast. While this role is focused on taking marketing from 0→1, you’ll be doing so in the context of a proven, scaling business. You’ll have a clear path to grow into a Head of Marketing or CMO, as well as the opportunity to build and lead a team as the function scales.
If you thrive in high-ownership, high-impact environments, this is your chance to shape and scale marketing at a fast-growing, mission-driven company.
What You’ll Do:
- Own and evolve Flock’s marketing strategy with a focus on messaging, content, and events
- Shape and deliver a content strategy that drives awareness, trust, and engagement
- Lead in-person and localized events that expand our presence in key markets
- Partner with acquisitions and leadership to ensure messaging resonates deeply with landlords and advisors
- Collaborate with external partners to align paid channel execution with broader strategy and monitor performance
- Identify new paid channels and work with external partners to launch, test, and scale
- Safeguard and grow consistent messaging across every channel and touchpoint
Requirements
- 7–10 years in consumer-facing fintech, proptech, or related sectors
- Proven success driving multi-channel growth and brand awareness
- Strong analytical mindset with a bias for measurable results
- Startup or 0→1 experience — building strategy and execution from the ground up
- Strong sense of duty and extreme ownership mindset—you take initiative, raise the bar, and finish what you start
- You must be comfortable working in-person 5x days per week
Even if you don’t meet 100% of the qualifications, we recommend applying to the role!
Location: SF, NYC, or Denver
Compensation: The annual salary for this role is $175K-$210K, with target equity and benefits (including medical, dental, vision, and 401(k).
