The Job
Legal and Compliance are trusted, proactive, commercial partners here at Flo.
Divided into three groups (Privacy, Legal, and Compliance), they collaborate with the business across the full spectrum of legal needs for the company, working hand in glove with product and other departments to not just ensure compliance but to proactively drive forward business objectives and facilitate Flo’s success.
This role is a (Sr) Corporate Counsel role, sitting under our Legal Services function.
Your Experience
Must have:
- 3+ years' PQE of work as commercial legal counsel in a tech company or a reputable law firm
- Strong knowledge of the UK or US contract law
- Experience in advising respective stakeholders on commercial matters, agreements, partnerships, and similar arrangement
- Experience in managing legal projects and stakeholders with minimum supervision
Nice to have:
- Experience working with UK corporate and employment laws and advising on the same
- Knowledge of basic privacy rules, such as GDPR requirements for managing third parties (data processing agreements, transfer impact assessments, vendor privacy assessments)
- Knowledge of legal tools (contract management software, digital signing software, risk management software)
- Knowledge of project management software (JIRA, Confluence)
- Experience in setting up or enhancing vendor-related processes.
What you'll be doing
You'll be responsible for:
- Handling day-to-day contractual matters of the Company and its subsidiaries (e.g., drafting and negotiating agreements, performing vendor legal checks, liaising with vendors on any legal matters, drafting)
- Supporting wider stakeholders on contractual matters, such as strategic and tactical partnerships, integrations etc.
- Supporting the procurement team on vendor management matters such as legal checks, privacy and sanctions assessments, and other vendor compliance matters
- Participating in due diligence activities outside commercial areas (M&A, investor relations, etc.)
- Supporting the Company within the legal due diligence processes during funding rounds, external audits, and KYC processes
You'll be targeted on:
- Advising internal and external (People & Talent, Finance, C-level management, investor companies) teams on commercial and contractual matters
- Supporting vendor management processes (performing various checks, due diligence, privacy assessments)
- Efficient and speedy drafting and commercially-minded negotiation skills
- Following the SLAs of the department
- Participation in the creation and development of department initiatives
- Establishing yourself as a reliable go-to partner for legal matters related to your domain

Salary Range - per year
£83,000 - £110,000 GBP
Ranges may vary depending on your skills, competencies and experience.
