Senior Infrastructure Engineer
We’re very proud of our achievements:
In July 2024, we secured a $200M investment led by General Atlantic to help revolutionise women’s health, and became the first purely digital consumer women’s health app to achieve unicorn status! 🦄
We’ve had 380M+ downloads, have over 70M monthly users, are #1 by installs in the iOS Health category, hit 4.9 stars on the App Store (3M+ reviews), are backed by 9 VCs, had a 40% revenue increase last year, and topped a valuation of $1B.
We’re a growing, ambitious HealthTech business building the essential digital health partner of tomorrow to empower women, girls, and people who menstruate with the knowledge and support they need to stay well and live better.
Our cycle, ovulation and pregnancy tracking, educational content and anonymised community platform have been trusted for years by millions to help them feel more in control of their health every day.
Now, we’re harnessing the power of data analytics and AI to build a smarter future, one where we all know our bodies better, with an aim to become the essential health partner to women worldwide.
The Job
We’re not chasing product–market fit. We’ve found it. Flo is used by 1 in 4 women aged 18-44 in the US. Last month alone, 8.6M new installs and a 2.8M user jump. That kind of scale doesn’t just happen. It’s engineered. That’s where you come in.
We’re hiring a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to join Velocity, our internal platform team. Velocity exists to make engineering at Flo faster, safer, and more innovative. Your mission? Build the systems that empower our devs to ship like pros without breaking things.
What Velocity does:
- Automates everything worth automating
- Hides complexity behind clean, intuitive tooling
- Bakes in security and standards so teams don’t have to think twice
What you’ll help build:
- Distributed systems that handle millions of real-time health interactions
- Privacy-first features like Anonymous Mode (named in TIME’s Best Inventions)
- Self-service tools that give teams speed without chaos
- A stack that scales - fast, available, and secure, always
You’ll thrive here if you:
- Have 6+ years in Infra, SRE, DevOps or similar roles in high-scale environments
- Know AWS, Kubernetes, and CI/CD like the back of your hand
- Understand observability (metrics, logs, tracing) and why it matters
- Can debug at the Linux kernel level and aren’t scared of a flame graph
- Have experience with multiple languages (Python, Bash, Scala, Go, etc.)
- Communicate, document well, and collaborate like a pro
Bonus points if you’ve:
- Hardened infra with security best practices
- Shipped at scale in a consumer tech environment
What’s in it for you:
- Own our core infrastructure stack (Terraform, Kubernetes, Sentry, EKS, Ansible)
- Shape and scale infra-as-code with autonomy
- Equip engineers with best-in-class observability so issues get fixed before they’re felt
- Play a lead role in reliability and resilience through on-call and business continuity planning
- Take security seriously - and help raise the bar across the company
You're not just keeping the lights on. You're building the grid. If that sounds like your kind of challenge, let's talk.
