The job

We're looking for a UI Designer to join our Gamification team and shape the playful, motivating experiences that help millions of users build healthier habits. You'll own the visual and interaction design for gamified features across our mobile app, creating interfaces, illustrations, and character-driven moments that feel intuitive and emotionally resonant. 

This will be a 12 month contract on a daily rate. 

What You'll Do

• Design intuitive, visually polished UI for gamification features across iOS and Android, including rewards, progress milestones and interactive widgets. 
• Create bespoke illustrations for diverse user scenarios, ensuring each conveys the right emotional tone and aligns with Flo's brand personality
• Own and evolve our character system. Refine the existing battery character and design new supporting characters that guide users through their health journeys
• Map complex user flows visually, ensuring state transitions feel seamless, logical, and rewarding
• Produce high-fidelity assets and detailed handoffs (specs, responsive behaviour, interaction states) for engineering
• Develop storyboards and keyframe concepts for motion designers to bring interactions to life
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Product Designers, Product Managers, and Engineers. Iterating based on user feedback, data insights, and stakeholder input

What We're Looking For

• Strong portfolio demonstrating UI design, illustration, and character or icon work for mobile products
• Experience designing gamification, rewards systems, or engagement-focused features 
• Ability to translate user scenarios into clear, emotionally engaging visual narratives
• Comfort working in fast-paced, cross-functional teams with a bias toward iteration
• Proficiency in Figma (or similar); familiarity with preparing assets for motion and development handoff
• Passion for health, wellness, or mission-driven products
