AI Automation Manager
What We Do:
Florence software advances cures by helping the world’s most important research sites do their best work. Our solutions are now used by over 30,000 research teams in 70 countries around the world—we’re the most widely deployed site workflow tool in the industry. By the end of the decade, we’ll double the pace at which new medicines get to market by doubling the output of trial site teams. To date, we were named a Deloitte Fast 50 business, G2 Category Leader, an Inc. & AJC best place to work, and an Inc. 5000 company five years in a row.
At Florence, we are committed to make the world a better place by accelerating research while providing an environment for our employees where they can be happy in their lives, enjoy their jobs, and grow.
What You’ll Bring to the Team:
Florence is looking to transform internal operations through the use of AI-assisted automation in a safe and governed environment. Towards that mission, we want to build and steward an enduring company capability to systematically identify, apply, and scale AI-driven improvements across how Florence operates and delivers value. This role will directly lead us in that mission working as both a Program Lead and a “Capability Builder”. This means you will help define the Program goals, and lead it, but more importantly, be a “force multiplier” in ensuring teams are implementing new more efficient processes and learning from other teams in identifying the right processes and using the right tools. While functional leaders own outcomes and process design within their functions, this role will also act as an AI service desk. This desk will help functional teams with surgical project execution support around automation scripts, use of tools etc.
This is a key role with a high level of executive overview and support.
You Will:
- You will report into the Florence Operations team, where you will lead the company-wide AI transformation & integration efforts
- Work collaboratively with key Florence functions (GTM, G&A, Product, R&D) to identify the most impactful processes to re-think and automate using AI tools
- Own company-wide AI roadmap aligned to efficiency, product leverage, and ROI
- Help identify and prioritize use cases (quick wins vs. foundational builds), and deconstruct complex workflows and redesign them with AI embedded (not layered on)
- Run rapid pilots (0→1) and help scale successful ones (1→N), and size impact with quantitative models in terms of ROI to the company and the phases needed to recoup investments and showcase impact
- Provide support for functional teams with an “AI Enablement Partner” mentality, with targeted support around building the right automation code or scripts and suggesting the right tool set
- Build repeatable playbooks for other functions and teams to leverage and get to a faster start, thereby creating a flywheel effect around AI transformation in the company
- Support executive reviews of the transformation program, highlighting wins and executive action needed
- Stay briefed on the state of art in terms of AI technologies and tools as it pertains to process transformation for companies of our scale
An Ideal Candidate Has:
- 4+ years of relevant experience including AI technologies
- Systems/process thinker with transformation experience (consulting or internal)
- Strong business/ROI orientation; focused on execution success vs just program governance, with a service-oriented mindset to support business functions
- Technically fluent in AI technologies and state of art, as it applies to process transformation (Use of automation tools like Zapier or N8N, LLMs etc)
- Ability to design & implement lightweight ai-enabled workflows using api's, orchestration tools, and LLM-based code development (preferably Claude Code)
- Ability to develop maintainable automation scripts to support teams and build catalog of scripts for re-use
- High ownership, comfortable operating in ambiguity, drives outcomes
- Success = measurable efficiency gains, scaled use cases, and distributed capability across teams
- This is a business-led transformation role, not an R&D related role
- Previous experience in such AI-driven transformations
- Experience in mid-size startups of our scale, especially in a SaaS context
What’s in it for you?
- Do well. We offer a competitive compensation package, medical and dental insurance, and office space in the heart of the city.
- Do good. We insist that health technology is the highest calling for software development. We pride ourselves on working on something bigger than ourselves; helping advance cures and therapies.
- Make the leap. Join our high-output culture to create innovative, modern, and purposeful software solutions.
