Annuities Operations Associate

Jersey City

Since 2017, Flourish has been on a mission to help financial advisors evolve from holistic advice to holistic implementation to more fully serve their clients and achieve better outcomes. We focus on independent Registered Investment Advisors (RIAs), delivering financial products that advisors can’t easily access today through beautiful, scalable, and easy-to-use technology.

Today, we work with over 1,000 RIAs that collectively represent more than $2.6T in assets under management across two products — Flourish Annuities and Flourish Cash — and with our recent acquisition of Sora Finance, we’ll be adding a lending offering in 2026. Headquartered in New York City, we are an independently-operating, wholly-owned subsidiary of MassMutual Life Insurance Company.

Read on if you are interested in joining a small, highly-collaborative, rapidly-growing startup—backed by the support and stability of a Fortune 500 company.

About You

You are a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual with a passion for learning, especially about financial services, insurance and technology. You are excited to work in a fast-paced environment where you can wear many hats and where your contributions directly impact the company's success. You are excited to contribute to every aspect of a growing organization, from optimizing the technology to helping us operate more efficiently.

About the Role

Hundreds of billions of dollars in annuities are sold in the United States each year, yet adoption in the RIA space is almost zero. In 2024, we launched Flourish Annuities to address this challenge, leveraging a technology-driven insurance desk to bring annuities to the independent RIA space. We are looking for an Annuity Operations Associate to support our small but growing annuities team in their efforts to grow the business while providing signature, white-glove service.

In this role, you will support insurance agency operations for the Flourish Annuities business line. As our first Annuity Operations Associate, you will ensure all contract data and documentation is properly completed and loaded to the system in a timely manner, support all onboarding tasks for our new RIA firms, including processing forms and following up with our firm contacts to resolve any issues, and help our case management team resolve requests from advisors and clients related to their annuity contracts. To be effective in this role, you will need to learn and understand the unique needs of each of our products and how they intersect with our platform to effectively drive tasks from start to finish.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain client and contract data within our proprietary systems.
  • Support RIA firm onboarding tasks including processing forms, tracking progress, and following up with firm contacts.
  • Support the case management team with application completion.
  • Collaborate with our case management team to research and resolve inquiries from advisors and clients related to existing annuity contracts.
  • Update and maintain operational documentation and process flows.
  • Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and accuracy, contributing to the development and documentation of new processes and procedures.
  • Assist in testing new features and functionalities of our platform, providing valuable feedback to our product and engineering teams.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in financial services operations, customer service, or a highly detail-oriented administrative role.
  • Comfortable learning and adapting to new technology platforms and software quickly.
  • Meticulous and accurate in all tasks, with a strong focus on data integrity.
  • Eager to take initiative, learn new things, and contribute to a fast-paced environment.
  • Collaborative mindset with a willingness to support colleagues and contribute to a positive team culture.
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic environment where priorities can shift quickly.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Basic understanding of financial products, particularly annuities and life insurance
  • Insurance or FINRA Series 7 license
  • Experience working within the insurance industry or at financially regulated companies

At Flourish, we focus on ensuring fair, equitable pay by providing competitive salaries, along with bonus and incentive opportunities and benefits for all employees.

Base Salary Range: $54,400 - $68,500 plus bonus

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
