We design computer vision and machine learning-assisted production processes to reduce food waste, improve QA, and enhance staff skills, using proprietary hardware and software to solve customer problems.
FloVision Solutions is a U.S.-based Series A startup with a remotely distributed team across the U.S., UK, and Ireland.
POSITION OVERVIEW
As a Field Technician at FloVision Solutions, you will play a key role in supporting our operations through the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of our systems at client sites. This position requires regular travel within Ireland and may also involve international assignments across the EU/UK, United States, Australia, and other regions as needed.
We’re looking for a self-driven, inquisitive individual who is excited to contribute to our mission of reducing 1% of global CO₂ emissions by minimizing food waste. As a Field Technician, you'll play a vital role in shaping the continuous improvement of our products and services.
LOCATION & TRAVEL
This role is a full-time, remote position, open to candidates located within Ireland or the UK. While in-person collaboration is not required, the role involves substantial travel to client sites, both nationally and internationally. Regular weekend travel is part of this role and should be expected during certain projects.
- Expected travel: approximately 75%, depending on project timelines and customer needs.
- Attend team meetups and work sessions two to four times per year.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Travel to client sites to scope out installation sites, perform initial installation, scheduled maintenance, and troubleshooting
- Travel to international sites to perform initial equipment installation
- Perform mechanical and electrical maintenance and emergency repairs on-site
- Conduct mechanical and electrical fault findings in cooperation with remote support teams
- Uphold and promote standards for Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment in daily operations
- Document findings and maintenance processes thoroughly and accurately
- Maintain high levels of organization and cleanliness
- Ensure all operations align with company procedures and customer objectives
- When not traveling, you will work closely with the hardware design team to improve the product
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Post-secondary diploma or technical degree as Electrical Engineering Technician, Control Technician or equivalent
- Minimum of 4 years in automation/controls environments, with extensive experience in PLC and HMI programming
- Must be able and willing to travel extensively, as work demand dictates
- Must possess outstanding written and verbal communication abilities
- Capable of effective and clear interaction with all levels of customer personnel in a multi-disciplined engineering environment, especially under pressure
- Able to consistently and effectively communicate both progress and blockers with remote support engineers
- Strong technical experience and troubleshooting capability, and willingness to work hands-on
- Commitment, resourcefulness, ambition, and the ability to aggregate & balance multiple projects
- Must be a critical thinker with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with the U.S. team
- Ability to thrive in a collaborative environment and communicate clearly across teams
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with Raspberry Pi, Arduino, or other single board computers/microcontrollers
- Familiarity with DIN rail equipment and troubleshooting electronics or building and installing
- Strong curiosity to learn and expand your skills
- Passion and curiosity to be a jack of all trades - interest in growing your knowledge in areas outside of your expertise
- Sleuthing - you enjoy digging into a problem and uncovering the root cause of behaviors, and determining the best course of action in context with customers' desires
INTERVIEW PROCESS OVERVIEW
Throughout the process, you'll have multiple opportunities to showcase your skills and experience, and we will aim to keep communication transparent and timely as we move through each step.
- Stage 1: Initial Audio Interview (via Qualifi) This is an audio-based, on-demand interview where you respond to pre-recorded questions at your convenience.
- Stage 2: Behavioral Interview (via Google Meets)
- Stage 3: Technical Interview (via Google Meets)
- Stage 4: Final Interview (as needed, based on previous evaluations)
- Stage 5: Job Offer: Upon successful completion of all interview stages, selected candidates will receive a formal job offer.

- Competitive compensation: €50,000-€70,000/year depending on experience and location
