Senior Solutions Engineer

US - Remote

FloVision Solutions is a remote-first startup focused on improving the food supply chain, starting with protein processing. We design computer vision and machine learning-assisted production processes to reduce food waste, improve QA, and enhance staff skills, using proprietary hardware and software to solve customer problems.

FloVision Solutions is a U.S.-based Series A startup with a remotely distributed team across the USA, UK, and Ireland.

 

 

POSITION OVERVIEW 

As a Solutions Engineer at FloVision Solutions, you will sit at the intersection of product, engineering, and customer operations. You will work directly with customers to design, develop, and deploy production applications, technical proofs-of-concept, and demo tools. Your initial project will be building a supply chain management solution for food processors, including a proof-of-concept and MVP for yield prediction.

We’re looking for a creative builder - potentially a former technical founder or early-stage startup engineer - with a strong analytical and software development background and excellent interpersonal skills. You'll play a critical role in translating real-world workflows into elegant software solutions, leveraging The Lean Startup methodology to iterate rapidly and collaboratively.

As one of FloVision’s early employees, you will help shape our product roadmaps and engineering culture.

LOCATION & TRAVEL

This role is a full-time remote position. Occasional travel may be required for the following:

  • Travel to customer sites (5–10% travel, depending on project and individual preferences).
  • Attend team meetups and work sessions once or twice per year.

 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Translate customer workflows into structured product and engineering requirements
  • Design, develop, and deploy full-stack applications
  • Troubleshoot, test, and iterate with direct customer feedback
  • Deliver technical deep-dives, demonstrations, and training sessions to non-technical customers
  • Write application specifications and user-facing documentation
  • Model and analyze data to align system logic with real-world plant operations
  • Gather feedback from stakeholders to inform product iterations
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with product, engineering, and customer success teams

 

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) field, or comparable experience
  • 2+ years of professional software development experience with object-oriented programming languages (Python, Typescript, Javascript)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience developing and deploying full-stack applications
  • Ability to work autonomously and on a cross-functional, remote team
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

 

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience building and deploying software products from 0 to 1
  • Experience working in a customer-facing engineering role
  • Experience developing in Python and building APIs
  • Experience with backend frameworks like ExpressJS
  • Experience with frontend frameworks like ReactJS, Flutter, or AngularJS
  • Proficiency with SQL and NoSQL databases
  • Familiarity with Git or other version control tools
  • Background in the AI/ML space, particularly computer vision
  • Experience with ERP or MES systems
  • Background in food production or agricultural systems
  • Familiarity with demand planning or forecasting systems
  • DevOps or CICD familiarity to push code to production, manage pipelines, and debug deployment issues
  • AWS/GCP cloud infrastructure experience

  • Stage 1: Initial Audio Interview (via Qualifi) This is an audio-based, on-demand interview where you respond to pre-recorded questions at your convenience.
  • Stage 2: Behavioral Interview (via Google Meets)
  • Stage 3: Technical Interview (via Google Meets)
  • Stage 4: Final Interview (via Google Meets)
  • Stage 5: Job Offer: Upon successful completion of all interview stages, selected candidates will receive a formal job offer.
