People Operations & Recruiting Generalist

FloVision Solutions is a remote-first startup focused on improving the food supply chain, starting with protein processing. We design computer vision and machine learning-assisted production processes to reduce food waste, improve QA, and enhance staff skills, using proprietary hardware and software to solve customer problems.
FloVision Solutions is a U.S.-based Series A startup with a remotely distributed team across the USA, UK, and Ireland.
POSITION OVERVIEW
As a People Operations & Recruiting Generalist at FloVision Solutions, you will work across recruiting, people operations, and internal infrastructure to help scale our team thoughtfully and efficiently. This is a highly dynamic, generalist role where your scope will evolve based on business needs and your individual strengths.
You will be responsible for supporting and improving our hiring processes, managing employee lifecycle operations, and helping build the systems and infrastructure that enable our team to do their best work. You will support our team in growing intentionally, maintaining a strong culture, and ensuring smooth and compliant operations across multiple geographies.
We are looking for a highly organized, proactive, and thoughtful operator with strong judgment and communication skills who is excited to wear multiple hats and take ownership of meaningful initiatives. As one of FloVision’s early team members in People Operations, you will play a key role in shaping how we scale our team and build our internal processes.
LOCATION & TRAVEL
This role is a full-time remote position, with the option to work in a hybrid capacity with the team in Chicago, IL. Occasional travel may be required for the following:
- Travel to customer sites (0–5% travel, depending on project and individual preferences)
- Attend team meetups and work sessions two to four times per year
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Recruiting & Talent Operations
- Coordinate and support the hiring process end-to-end, including scheduling, candidate communication, and interview logistics
- Partner with hiring managers to ensure a thoughtful and high-quality candidate experience
- Help build and improve recruiting processes and systems as we scale
- Support sourcing and pipeline development as needed
People Operations & Employee Experience
- Manage onboarding and offboarding processes across U.S. and international team members
- Provide day-to-day support to employees, helping address questions and needs as they arise
- Assist with benefits administration and general HR processes
- Plan and support team events, offsites, and engagement initiatives
Global Compliance & Operations
- Support compliance across multiple geographies (U.S., UK, Ireland, and contractors globally)
- Conduct research and stay up to date on employment laws and best practices
- Help develop and maintain clear, lightweight internal guidelines and documentation
- Assist with audits, insurance, and other operational compliance needs
Systems & Infrastructure
- Support implementation and management of HR tools, ATS, and internal systems
- Assist with IT coordination, device management, and vendor relationships
- Contribute to SOC 2 / ISO compliance initiatives and documentation efforts
- Identify opportunities to improve processes and operational efficiency
Ownership & Decision-Making
- Operate with a high degree of autonomy and accountability
- Make thoughtful decisions with incomplete information
- Balance speed and accuracy in a fast-moving environment
- Proactively identify problems and drive solutions across people operations
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 2+ years of experience in People Operations, HR, Recruiting, or a related role
- Experience supporting employee lifecycle processes (onboarding, offboarding, employee support, etc.)
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and switch contexts frequently
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to make sound decisions and operate with good judgment in ambiguous situations
- High level of trustworthiness and discretion when handling sensitive information
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a distributed team
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience supporting recruiting or talent operations in a startup or fast-paced environment
- Exposure to global HR or compliance across multiple countries
- Familiarity with HRIS, ATS, or people operations tools (e.g., Gusto, Greenhouse, etc.)
- Experience with compliance frameworks such as SOC 2 or ISO
INTERVIEW PROCESS OVERVIEW
