Overview 
The HVAC/R Sales Manager is responsible for leading, developing, and scaling the company’s sales team to drive profitable revenue growth across service, preventative maintenance, and installation. This role oversees the full sales cycle—from lead generation and pipeline development to estimating, quoting, and closing—and ensures alignment between sales, operations, and customer success. The ideal candidate is a performance-driven leader with strong HVAC industry knowledge, excellent communication skills, and a proven ability to build customer 
trust.

Responsibilities

  • Develop annual sales plans aligned with company expectations, revenue targets and market strategy
  • Lead, coach, and mentor account managers and business development personnel
  • Build KPIs and dashboards to measure pipeline, forecasting accuracy, and revenue performance
  • Conduct regular sales meetings and training sessions
  • Evaluate market trends and competitor activity to identify opportunities for expansion
  • Build and manage a strong pipeline of commercial HVAC opportunities
  • Strengthen customer relationships through onsite visits, presentations, and solution development
  • Identify and pursue high-value target accounts and strategic partnerships
  • Maintain a deep understanding of customer needs and tailor proposals accordingly
  • Oversee the preparation of estimates, proposals, and bids for HVAC maintenance and installation work
  • Ensure accuracy of scopes of work, pricing, labor hours, materials, and margins
  • Support the sales team in negotiating contracts to meet profitability goals
  • Collaborate closely with operations for job walks, equipment verification, scheduling, and turnover
  • Partner with service and operations to ensure work sold is feasible, profitable, and aligned expectations
  • Work with marketing to drive lead generation campaigns and refine value propositions
  • Coordinate with finance on pricing strategy, margin analysis, and revenue forecasting
  • Provide coaching to improve consultative selling, technical capability, and negotiation skills
  • Track and report sales results weekly, monthly, and quarterly
  • Present pipeline status and revenue projections to senior leadership

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years in a Sales Leadership role, preferably within Commercial HVAC or Construction Trades
  • Familiarity with building codes, HVAC equipment manufacturers, and industry standards [a plus]
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and grow high-performing sales teams
  • Proven experience developing sales plans, creating go-to-market strategies, and successfully implementing new sales initiatives
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to drive both top-line revenue and bottom-line profitability
  • Proficient in CRM platforms and data-driven sales management
