Overview
The Senior Corporate Accountant will play a critical role in managing full-cycle accounting processes across a multi-entity environment. This position owns key aspects of month-end close, balance sheet reconciliations, inventory and fixed asset accounting, and the delivery of accurate, timely, and GAAP-compliant financial reporting. In addition to core accounting responsibilities, the Senior Corporate Accountant will contribute to the preparation of comprehensive financial packages, KPI analysis, audit support, and M&A integration initiatives. 

The role is designed for a high-performing accounting professional who can operate independently, exercise sound professional judgment, and proactively identify opportunities to improve processes, recording accuracy and consistency, and reporting quality. The successful candidate will demonstrate exceptional accuracy, accountability, and attention to detail, along with the ability to collaborate effectively in a multi-entity environment while requiring minimal day-to-day supervision. 

Responsibilities

  • Work as part of a team responsible for all aspects of general ledger accounting for a multi-entity organization
  • Execute accurate, well-supported month-end close processes that includes items such as balance sheet reconciliations, recording monthly accruals, recording fixed asset additions/disposals and depreciation, adjustments to prepaid schedules and amortization, and lease amortization and accounting
  • Prepare and contribute to monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting packages, including detailed variance analysis and clear explanations for operating entities, corporate management, the board and investors
  • Develop and maintain KPIs and financial analytics within the GL and supporting data lake system to support operational and strategic decision-making
  • Support annual audit and tax preparation processes, including responding to auditor requests with minimal guidance
  • Serve as a divisional tax liaison for assigned entities
  • Maintain solid and effective internal controls and related documentation
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and consistency across the accounting function
  • Support merger and acquisition activity, including accounting integration, post-close support, and process standardization

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in corporate accounting and/or public accounting
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (required); CPA (preferred)
  • Demonstrated ownership of full month-end close processes in a complex environment
  • Strong working knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards
  • Hands-on experience with ERP systems such as Sage Intacct, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, or QuickBooks
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, formulas, data analysis)
  • Prior experience in a multi-entity environment
  • Experience supporting audits, tax preparation, and external reporting processes (preferred)
  • Background in project accounting and/or service-based industries (HVAC, construction, field services) (preferred)
