Windows Systems Engineer

Flow Traders is looking for an experienced Windows Systems Engineer to join our growing IT team in New York. The ideal candidate is has hands on experience across with windows systems and is comfortable working with an international team to manage day to day operations. The role of a Windows Systems Engineer involves running IT projects, and designing, implementing, and maintaining Windows and Azure-based systems to meet the technological needs of an organization. This includes selecting software solutions, providing technical support, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring that systems are running smoothly and efficiently, as well as work closely with other IT professionals to ensure that technology is used effectively and efficiently to meet the organization's goals and objectives.

What you will do 

  • Design, implement, and maintain Windows and Azure-based IT systems, analyzing business requirements thoroughly to ensure optimal system performance and security
  • Manage IT Core infrastructure meticulously, monitoring system health and performance on a regular basis; including configuring settings, implementing security measures, and ensuring that all systems are up-to-date with the latest patches and updates
  • Facilitate seamless integration of business systems by working closely with various endpoints and developing scripted and automated solutions to streamline processes and enhance efficiency
  • Oversee projects from initiation to completion, meticulously managing all phases of the project life cycle
  • Perform system upgrades and maintenance diligently, applying patches, upgrades, and updates to operating systems, software, and other technology
  • Analyze system performance comprehensively, identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions to enhance overall efficiency and effectiveness
  • Provide technical support, addressing and resolving technical escalations promptly to minimize downtime and optimize system performance
  • Foster collaboration with other departments, proactively understanding and addressing their technology needs
  • Maintain meticulous documentation of IT systems, accurately documenting system changes and providing regular reports on system performance and issues

 

What you need to succeed

  • 5+ years of professional experience
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Project Management experience: 
    • Able to create and manage projects independently or with a team.
    • Communication skills to effectively coordinate and prioritize project tasks and status.
    • Thinking 'outside of the box', and cultivating innovative long term solutions for the resolution of end user issues
    • Ability to work under pressure to deliver agreed targets and SLA's.
  • Excellent communication skills and customer-oriented
  • Desire to work with new and upcoming technologies
  • Strong attention-to-detail, self-starter, highly organized, methodical and strong communicator (inc. English fluency)
  •  Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Product Suite:

Where candidates will fall within the range depends on a few different factors including but not limited to level of experience, location, and specific skill set. We also consider ourselves one global team, and to demonstrate that, all employees are eligible to share in the company’s success through an annual discretionary variable remuneration allocated based on company, group and individual performance and contribution. 

 

Per NYC salary transparency law, the total compensation for this role includes a base of $120,000 to $150,000 plus annual discretionary variable remuneration.
