Trading Application Reliability Engineer
Flow Traders is looking for a motivated individual with a strong interest in technology and financial markets to join our APAC Trading Application Support team. The applicant must have an enterprising mind-set with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities and demands. You will be working with highly skilled and motivated colleagues such as Traders, Developers, and System Engineers in order to achieve a common goal.
As a member of our Trading Application Support team, you will provide hands-on support to our traders in order to safeguard the performance and stability of our proprietary trading systems. Additionally, you will participate in projects, advise on structural improvements, and monitor trends within your area of expertise to capitalise on the opportunities afforded by new technologies.
What You Will Do
- Respond quickly to any technical issues affecting in-house trading applications
- Automate infrastructure tasks using CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code tools (e.g., Ansible, Helm, Terraform)
- Utilise project- and change-management tools to maintain and configure trading infrastructure
- Continuously monitor and improve system reliability, performance, and availability
- Monitor and document trading applications and IT infrastructure
- Collaborate with developers to design new and improved in-house applications
- Manage applications deployed to on-prem Kubernetes clusters, including upgrades, scaling, and monitoring
What You Will Need to Succeed
- Knowledge of Kubernetes and distributed streaming platform such as Kafka
- Proficiency with scripting languages, such as bash and Python
- Familiarity with observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/EFK
- Experience with CI/CD systems (e.g., GitLab CI, ArgoCD)
- Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code and automation tools (Terraform, Helm, Ansible)
- A keen interest in performance optimization and scalable system design
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a strong sense of urgency
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
