Head of PMO

 

Flow Traders is looking for an experienced Head of PMO to own and oversee our global project portfolio and drive execution excellence across the firm. Reporting directly to the COO, this role will be the driving force behind our global project portfolio, ensuring that our most important initiatives are prioritized, aligned, and delivered on time within budget, with measurable impact.

In a fast-paced high-frequency trading environment, you will enable cross-functional collaboration across technology, trading, risk, operations, and corporate functions. While pioneering the adoption of AI and agentic workflows to fundamentally elevate how we plan, govern, execute and report on projects.

The Head of PMO will work closely with senior leaders to bring clarity to complexity, foster strong cross-functional partnerships, enforce disciplined investment governance, and continuously evolve the PMO into an AI-augmented, data-driven strategic function.

This is a highly visible role with real impact on the firm’s sustainable growth, resilience, and long-term success.


What you will do:

• Own and manage the firm-wide project portfolio with full lifecycle governance - from business case intake through to ROI realization tracking.
• Act as the gatekeeper of the project portfolio: ensure every strategic initiative is supported by a high-quality business case with clear ROI targets, measurable success criteria, and defined value realization milestones.
• Set and maintain clear priorities aligned with business strategy, risk appetite, and capacity constraints.
• Drive delivery discipline, transparency, and measurable results.
• Champion the integration of AI, automation, and agentic workflows into all aspects of project management, reporting, and portfolio governance
• Enable cross-functional collaboration for complex, multi-department initiatives.
• Act as a strategic partner to the COO and senior leadership.
• Drive a culture of execution excellence and continuous improvement.
• Lead and develop a team of program managers, elevating their capabilities in both traditional and AI-enabled project delivery

 

What you need to succeed:

 

• 10+ years in PMO, portfolio management, strategy execution, or similar roles, preferably in financial services, trading, fintech, or technology-driven environments.
• A proven track record of leading complex, global portfolios and delivering meaningful business outcomes.
• Demonstrated experience managing and developing teams in a complex, fast-paced environment.
• Strong strategic and analytical thinking, with the ability to translate strategy into execution.
• Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills at executive level.
• Deep expertise in project, program, and portfolio management frameworks, tools, and governance.
• Comfortable operating in fast-paced, high-accountability environments.
• AI-savviness, able to harness data and automation to drive operational excellence, streamline processes, and scale impact across the business
• Results-driven, structured, and comfortable with ambiguity.
• Collaborative, proactive, and able to influence without formal authority.
• Strong ownership mentality, resilience, and a relentless drive for improvement.
• Master’s degree in Business, Engineering, Finance, or a related field.
• PMP, PgMP, SAFe, or similar certifications are a plus.
