Opportunity 

A senior specialist on the Retail Insights content team will help brands and retailers transform their businesses into industry leaders ready to win in a digital world, utilizing their deep subject matter expertise to create data and written reports that will guide investment decisions.

This includes uncovering future growth opportunities (where to play) and best practice execution guidance (how to win). In addition to their contributions to research on the Retail Insights subscription portal, senior specialists are essential to commercial success, supporting client renewal and new business activities.

What you'll do:

    • Help clients through digital transformation and become leaders in ecommerce
    • Lead and produce concisely written reports using data, primary research and subject matter expertise, with a focus on digital commerce industry topics like winning on the digital shelf, emerging ecommerce sub-channels and retail media in support of our Digital Commerce Radar product line
    • Ownership and delivery of thought leadership content to support the core Retail Insights platform 
    • Collaborate with the Research Director to plan and schedule content according to the needs of clients and in line with current industry trends. Monitor performance of existing reports and gather quantitative and qualitative feedback to identify new product development opportunities
    • Create unique data analysis to solve customers’ frequently asked questions and pain points
    • Monitor and interpret retailer, industry, and macro-economic developments to improve our data forecasts and coverage
    • Represent Flywheel Retail Insights through presenting research in-person and through virtual meetings to small and large audiences
    • Create and strengthen customer relationships by cultivating personal relationships and understanding our clients’ business priorities and needs

Who you are:

    • Minimum 3 years experience in retail, ecommerce or related field 
    • Bachelor’s Degree, ideally in relevant field
    • A passion for the retail industry, expertise and experience in ecommerce preferred
    • Demonstrated ability to identify client challenges and create solutions that solve customer pain points with actionable recommendations 
    • Quantitatively savvy with ability to interpret data to draw conclusions 
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills critical, additional language skills beneficial
    • Commercial understanding with history of contributions that impact business results
    • Self-motivated with demonstrated ability to take initiative and ownership
    • Adaptability to learn and adjust quickly in a fast moving environment with considerable accountability
    • Strong interpersonal skills to effectively work in teams, coordinate projects with multiple people, and interact with customers

The Interview Process:

Every role starts the same, an introductory call with someone from our Talent Acquisition team. We will be looking for company and values-fit as well as your professional experience; there may be some technical role-specific questions during this call.
 
Every role is different after the initial call, but you can expect to meet several people from the team 1:1 and there might be further skill assessments in the form of a Take Home Assignment/Case Study Presentation or Pair Programming/Live Coding exercise depending on the role. In your initial call, we will walk you through exactly what to expect the process to be.
