Construction Specialist II, Construction, FT

Job Summary

The Construction Specialist II, Construction, is a proficient, mid-level position within the Facilities Department, focused on executing in-house construction projects on a private estate.  Under the direction of the Facilities Supervisor, Construction, and collaborating with team members, the  Construction Specialist II will manage and support a variety of building projects, including structural enhancements, renovations, and maintenance tasks.  This role requires expertise in construction techniques, adherence to safety protocols, and efficient project completion.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist in planning and development of construction projects, including material lists and measurements (5%)
  • Execute construction projects from start to finish, ensuring quality and timely completion (80%)
  • Maintain workshop areas, tools and equipment (10%)
  • Perform administrative tasks such as purchasing and inventory management (5%)

Responsibilities & Duties

  • Participate in project planning and ensign coordination
  • Manage all phases of construction projects, including demotion, site preparation, framing, finishing, and roofing
  • Safety operate and oversee the use of power tools and heavy equipment
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas, tools and materials
  • Assist with purchasing and inventory management
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Job Skills & Qualifications

  • Proficient in various construction trends with solid foundational knowledge
  • Skilled in interpreting building plans and specifications
  • Familiarity with building codes and regulations
  • Ability to accurately measure and calculate materials
  • Competent in using hand tools, power tolls, and heavy machinery
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Commitment to workplace safety and operational excellence
  • Effective communication skills, with vendors, suppliers, and team members
  • Valid driver license required

Education Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK CONDITIONS

  • Bending, stooping, reaching, kneeling, squatting
  • Working in cramped spaces and on step-stools/ladders
  • Pushing, pulling, lifting up to 50 pounds
  • Working outdoors with or without wet, dusty or windy weather conditions
  • Working with and around combustible and/or hazardous materials, using proper PPE
  • Able to drive a side by side “Utility” vehicle (UTV)
  • Able to drive a full-size work truck with trailer
  • Able to operate machinery and heavy equipment

Salary Range

$42 - $49 USD
