Cleaning Attendant, Seasonal

Job Summary

The cleaning attendant will clean and maintain the workspace facilities to keep areas clean and orderly.


Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Performs general cleaning duties in the common areas of the building
  • Sweep, mop, scrub and vacuum floors
  • Wash, sanitize, and restock bathroom facilities (counters, sinks, toilets, mirrors, etc.)
  • Dust furniture, walls and equipment
  • Gathers trash and empty receptacles
  • Clean and sanitize breakroom areas; clean, wipe counters, shelves, tabletops, chairs and equipment
  • Wash dishes, clean counter appliances
  • Periodically cleans overhead vents, dust blinds and polishes wood furniture
  • Take care of cleaning equipment and keep an inventory of supplies
  • Tidy and prepare spaces for the following day
  • Follows procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment in order to prevent damage to floors and fixtures
  • Notifies managers concerning the need for minor or major repairs in building
  • Must be flexible and willing to complete all tasks assigned
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Job Skills and Qualifications

  • Knowledge of safety hazards and proper use of various cleaning and sanitizing solutions
  • Detail-oriented and thorough
  • Knowledge of cleaning equipment and appliances
  • Knowledge of cleaning agents and how to use and dispose of them safely
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Respect for, and emphasis on, confidentiality and privacy
  • Must be available to work variable shifts, weekends, and holidays during certain periods of the year

Education Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required

Physical Demands and Working Conditions

  • Prolonged periods standing
  • Must be able to lift, bend, stoop, climb, reach, and lift up to 50 pounds at a time without assistance and excess of 50 lbs., with assistance
  • Reach overhead, and below the knees, including bending twisting, pulling and stopping
  • Grasps, turn and manipulate objects of varying size and weight, requiring fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination
  • Move up and down a ladder
  • Stand, sit, kneel or walk for an extended period across an entire work shift
  • Working with cleaning solutions and solvents
  • May working in outdoors in wet, dusty or windy weather conditions
  • Able to drive side by side “Utility” vehicle
  • Reliable vehicle to get to and from work or other reliable transportation

Salary Range

$29 - $34 USD
