The Finance Analyst is responsible for helping manage the entire finance function for the organization, in connection with the Director of Finance, Finance Manager, and external partners. This dynamic position requires the ability to anticipate needs, think critically, and offer solutions to problems with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.
Core Duties & Responsibilities:
- Manage the month end close process in partnership with external service providers by uploading transactions into the accounting system and completing necessary reconciliations procedures. Transaction sources include:
- Electronic and paper payments from bank accounts
- Employee company credit cards
- Payroll and related benefits
- Employee expense reimbursements
- Generate monthly department-level spend reports for review by Director of Finance and disseminate to stakeholders
- Manage expense reporting software (Expensify), in connection with our external AP team. Including training new employees, troubleshooting issues, etc.
- Analyze invoices from vendors for accuracy and validity, with input from team members, and to ensure processing in accordance with established agreements, if applicable
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and/or optimization, including considering new software, applications, etc. and implement them
- Construct a new digital file maintenance program on the shared Google Drive
- Other duties as assigned
Skills & Work Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in an accounting or finance role that included involvement in the close process
- Expertise with excel is a must
- Ability to effectively manage a diverse range of projects from ideation to execution
- Models a spirit of cooperation with team members, building a culture of collaboration and kindness
- Ability to effectively work independently
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times
- Some travel may be required
Salary Range
$120,000 - $140,000 USD
