Position Summary
The Transition Manager is responsible for managing the Advisor Onboarding experience, workflow, and all aspects of an Advisor’s transition to Focus Partners Advisor Solutions (“FPAS”). The position oversees the Advisor Onboarding & Transitions process and helps coordinate business transitions for investment advisors moving their clients to FPAS or changing RIA/Broker-Dealers and maintain standardized onboarding experience through advisor training and guidance internally/externally.
The role requires a close partnership with senior leaders across the organization and collaboration with cross-functional managers. The Transition Manager position requires organizational skills, understanding of our service offerings, attention to detail, and excellent follow-up and follow-through.
The Transition Manager works with the Managing Director, Onboarding & Integration, Integration Advisor(s), Integration Manager(s), Integration Data Analyst(s), Transition Manager(s), Transition Specialist(s), and FPAS Divisional Manager(s), Regional Director(s) and Relationship Manager(s) to answer day to day questions, participate in structured training calls, and build rapport with our FPAS partner firms.
Primary Responsibilities
- Articulate value proposition of Onboarding & Transitions Team and process to new advisors joining FPAS.
- Create and implement processes and procedures to increase efficiency, productivity, and capacity of the team.
- Manage new Advisor Onboarding experience and internal workflow to support that experience.
- Provide superior client experience; responsible (in part) for firm goal of 98% client retention.
- Possess and communicates understanding of Focus Partners Advisor Solutions teams and resources available to advisors.
- Offer direction, motivation, and coaching to offices; encourage growth of assets under administration (AUA) as well as revenue derived from these relationships.
- Share feedback from clients with each division leader and work with Managing Director, Onboarding & Integration to ensure updated materials are disseminated via proper delivery channels (Advisor Development programs, On-site Visits, etc.).
- Ability to travel for the position and participate in client/prospect events throughout the year, as necessary.
- Document activities, business opportunities and communications with clients in tracking system on a timely basis.
- Develop referrals of new clients from existing client relationships.
- Maintain strong relationships with FPAS Regional Directors, Relationship Managers and Associate Relationship Directors.
- Maintain a high level of familiarity with FPAS tools, systems, and processes.
- Keep up with industry trends and publications.
- Leadership development to aid others in the organization to identify their opportunities and suggest alternate paths to obtain their objectives and encourage growth.
- Professional development and drive to pursue innovative solutions of personal interest.

Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in business or equivalent.
- MBA, CFA helpful; CFP, CPA/PFS preferred.
Work Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in the financial services industry with a focus in the RIA space.
- 3+ years of relationship management/advisor services experience.
Other Qualifications:
- Demonstrated success in consultative coaching or relationship management.
- Facilitating virtual experiences using Microsoft Teams, Skype for Business, Go-To Meeting, etc.
- Strong presentation and listening skills with an ability to effectively communicate concepts, terminology, and best practices.
- Proficiency in working with our custodians.
- Superior client service skills.
- Proficiency with the following technologies: DocuSign, Orion Advisor Services and Envestnet, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel, and Adobe.
- Critical thinking skills and sound judgment.
- Ability to motivate and excite others.
- Versatility in different situations and with various personalities; ability to respond and adapt to change quickly.
- Desire to produce high-quality work in a timely manner.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail.

The annualized base pay range for this role is expected to be between $61,000 - $71,000/year. Actual base pay could vary based on factors including but not limited to experience, subject matter expertise, geographic location where work will be performed, and the applicant's skill set. The base pay is just one component of the total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include an annual cash bonus and a comprehensive benefits package.
