Position Summary

Gelfand, Rennert & Feldman is seeking an Analyst, Royalty Services. This individual is responsible for supporting business management with royalty related tasks, ensuring all are completed in a timely and accurate manner. Looking for candidates with expert knowledge of music business and the various roles, practices, and standards of the industry. 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assist account managers with royalty portal access and troubleshooting issues.
  • Royalty account review with a focus on identifying missing royalty statements.
  • Compile royalty statements, review statements, and prepare income tracking schedules.
  • Prepare royalty allocation schedules related to commissions, marital separation, producer, writer, etc.
  • Assist with music publishing or sound recording registrations on PROs, SoundExchange, and other royalty collection sources.
  • SoundExchange administration, including registration and maintenance of sound recording claims and disputes.
  • Assist business management departments with various royalty-related tasks as assigned.
  • Other projects and duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree is required
  • Solid interpersonal skills and other key soft skills (i.e., communication, time management, emotional intelligence, adaptability, active listening, critical-thinking, etc.)
  • A genuine interest in the music business and music royalties
  • The candidate must also:
    • Be a self-motivated and detail-oriented analytical thinker
    • Possess excellent verbal/written communication skills and reading comprehension
    • Understand basic mathematical and accounting principles
    • Work well independently and in a team environment
    • Be eager to learn new skills and concepts
    • Want to help creative artists

 

This is a non-exempt, overtime eligible position. The annualized base pay range for this role is expected to be between $55,000 - $64,000. Actual base pay could vary based on factors including but not limited to experience, subject matter expertise, geographic location where work will be performed, and the applicant's skill set. The base pay is just one component of the total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include an annual bonus and a comprehensive benefits package. Candidate information, including education and work experience, is verified upon an offer of employment.
