
Royalty Analyst
Position Summary
The Royalty Analyst supports the department in managing royalty data, conducting compliance examinations, and performing detailed financial analysis on behalf of entertainment clients and other rights holders. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and proficiency with data tools to ensure accurate royalty reporting and client satisfaction.
This role is located in London, UK or Remote.
Primary Responsibilities
- Manage and analyze large royalty datasets using Power Query, Power BI, and advanced Excel formulas to create concise, actionable reports.
- Conduct royalty accountings using the Curve system on a monthly, quarterly, and semiannual basis, applying contractual rates and interpreting producer and third-party agreements.
- Administer royalty client accounts, including registrations, updates, and tracking of royalty statements across multiple revenue sources.
- Identify, investigate, and resolve royalty discrepancies, missing payments, or disputes through detailed reconciliations and ad hoc analyses.
- Review and summarize contracts and financial data to support audits, claim schedules, and compliance examinations of record companies, publishers, and other licensees.
- Prepare management commission calculations, advance computations, and other royalty-related reports.
- Support day-to-day operations of the royalty department, including data organization, research, and project-based initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Mathematics, or a related field (required).
- 2+ years of experience in a similar analytical or royalty-related role, preferably within entertainment or rights management.
- Advanced Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and complex formulas (e.g., VLOOKUP, SUMIF); experience with Power Query, Power Pivot, and Power BI preferred.
- Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving abilities with excellent attention to detail.
- Proficiency in interpreting contracts and applying financial or royalty terms accurately.
- Organized, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple priorities independently and collaboratively.
- Enthusiasm for working with creative artists and supporting the entertainment industry.
