Position Summary

Focus Partners Wealth is seeking a Senior Wealth Advisor to join our team! The Senior Wealth Advisor has a passion to serve and will always do the right thing over the easy thing. They serve our clients by putting clients’ needs first and with a sense of urgency. Wealth Advisors take a holistic planning first approach to fulfilling client’s financial goals. They do this by first listening to and understanding each client’s unique complexities and desires, before acting. The Wealth Advisor will lead a team and model excellence in financial planning knowledge, skill, and team development. They will initiate conversations and coordinate action plans in all aspects of a client’s financial life including goals-based planning, taxation, estate planning, and retirement.

Focus provides team members the flexibility to work a hybrid schedule. Our hybrid model is defined as 3 days in office work required per week, while giving team members the option to work remotely 2 days per week, or as assigned by their team leader. 

Primary responsibilities for this position include:

  • Work closely with a senior partner to lead relationships with primarily ultra-high net worth clients and families by providing-high touch, comprehensive wealth management and family office services;
  • Complex analysis and related research related to financial-, estate-, income tax-, insurance-, and investment-planning;
  • Develop and present solutions across the spectrum of wealth management disciplines for existing and prospective clients;
  • Develop, recommend and assist in the implementation of complex portfolio asset allocation and investment strategies – including a significant allocation to private/alternative investment strategies;
  • Communicate the full range of the Company’s services and capabilities to clients and prospective clients;
  • Coordinate advice with members of the client’s advisory team, including; attorneys, accountants, insurance advisors, and other professionals.
  • Document meetings, recommendations and action plans;
  • Oversee implementation of agreed-upon recommendations;
  • Provide guidance, feedback and mentoring to junior team members to continue to build their acumen, technical knowledge, and advisory abilities.

Qualifications

  • 7-10+ years of wealth management and/or other relevant work experience;
  • Bachelor’s Degree;
  • Achieved or candidate for:
    • CPA, MST, JD, or LLM, and,
    • CFA or CIMA, and,
    • CFP®;
  • A deep interest in and understanding of UHNW investments, investment philosophy, and portfolio construction
  • Understanding of matters related to income-, gift-, and estate-tax planning, insurance, advanced intergenerational wealth-transfer strategies, and philanthropic strategies;
  • Business-exit planning experience and an understanding of the entrepreneur owner manager client archetype.
  • Passion for excellence -- strong attention to detail and accuracy;
  • Analytical expertise, notable attention to detail, and self-initiated follow-through;
  • Ability to work independently and within strict deadlines while managing multiple priorities and open projects;
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.

 

The annualized base pay range for this role is expected to be between $180,000-$200,000.  Actual base pay could vary based on factors including but not limited to experience, subject matter expertise, geographic location where work will be performed, and the applicant's skill set.  The base pay is just one component of the total compensation package for employees.  Other rewards may include an annual cash bonus and a comprehensive benefits package.
