
Associate Vice President - Client Development
Position Summary
Focus Partners Wealth (FPW) is seeking an Associate VP, Client Development to join our team! Step into a high-energy, collaborative sales environment where driven professionals are passionate about helping clients achieve stronger financial futures. You will engage with high-net-worth individuals by introducing Focus Partners Wealth, using thoughtful conversations to understand their goals, introduce tailored solutions, and connect them with our wealth advisor team. In this role, you’ll play a key part in client engagement and onboarding, partnering within the Client Development team to manage digitally sourced opportunities and deliver a seamless, high-quality experience at every stage of the prospect journey.

Primary Responsibilities
- You’ll be singularly focused on driving growth
- Prospect and win new clients through outbound outreach, COIs, events, and strategic partnerships
- Build and manage a high-quality pipeline of affluent and high-net-worth prospects
- Own the full sales cycle—from first meeting through signed agreement
- Position FPW’s planning-led, fiduciary value proposition in a competitive marketplace
- Partner closely with advisors and specialists to deliver compelling, customized proposals
- Seamlessly transition clients to the advisory team post-close
Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional experience, preferably in financial services or a client-facing role
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Strong track record of achieving results and driving outcomes
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage and build trust across diverse audiences
- Persuasive and confident in influencing decisions
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities and workflows
- Proactive, resilient, and committed to continuous learning and improvement
- Strong proficiency with Salesforce (or similar platforms); experience configuring workflows is a bonus
- Adaptable team player, comfortable in fast paced, evolving environments with a strategic mindset and commitment to excellence
- Continuously refine your approach by sharing market feedback and prospect insight
As an AVP, Client Development, your compensation is largely based on AUM growth, under a tiered payout model based on net revenue for every new client you bring on. Growth-related compensation is uncapped, with average earnings ranging from $200,000 – $500,000 annually.
FPW will provide a competitive base salary, generally in the $100,000 – $150,000 range, tailored to your experience, expertise, geographic location, and skill set. This role is eligible for performance-based compensation tied to a tiered structure, offering increasingly substantial earnings for greater AUM growth. This model is designed to significantly elevate total compensation for those who consistently outperform. Actual incentive payouts will vary and are governed by the terms and conditions of the Client Development AVP Compensation Plan.
