Investment Operations Analyst
Position Summary
The Investment Operations Analyst is responsible for supporting the CIO team with specialist investment knowledge, analytical oversight, and process improvement. This role ensures the integrity of investment data, supports fund analysis, and drives enhancements in operational workflows.
This role can be located in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia; Sydney, New South Wales, Australia.
Primary Responsibilities
- Conduct new fund screenings, liaising with asset class specialists to ensure accurate analysis and documentation.
- Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting processes, including commentary preparation and review of investment performance data.
- Maintain and update fund performance spreadsheets, ensuring accuracy and consistency of Morningstar and manual data.
- Perform routine updates to client holdings, FUM, ETF Monitor, asset class performance, security pricing, and sector weights spreadsheets.
- Process fund additions and redemptions, maintaining accurate records and updating relevant spreadsheets.
- Proficiency in fund pricing across public & private markets including performance analytics
- Enter and export data from Morningstar, Bloomberg, Praemium, and other platforms into internal spreadsheets.
- Support portfolio construction by updating and reviewing portfolio summary tools, AA templates, and sector weights.
- Draft and review fund profiles, coordinating with marketing and asset class specialists for publication.
- Coordinate and oversee bookbuilds and capital calls, ensuring timely execution and compliance with internal procedures.
- Work with external stakeholders to ensure timely updates to pricing / performance and all transactions related to APL investments.
- Respond to complex advisor queries regarding managed funds, fee discounts, and investment data.
- Identify and implement process improvements, updating procedures and training new team members as required.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies, maintaining up-to-date records and documentation.
- Ensure compliance checklists are completed and documented for all fund-related processes.
- Communicate APL additions and redemptions to advisory teams and update relevant platforms.
- Provide information and support to advisory teams regarding APL funds and handle ad hoc queries.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in similar role.
- Strong understanding of investment products including but not limited to complex feeder funds (open & closed-ended), portfolio construction, and fund analysis.
- Advanced Excel and data management skills; experience with Morningstar, Bloomberg, Praemium, and related platforms.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to draft clear commentary and reports.
- Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in process improvement and training.
- Attention to detail and commitment to data integrity.
