Position Summary

The Manager of Portfolio Trading is responsible for leading and guiding the Trading team to provide the highest levels of service for our trading operations; and achieve department and company-wide initiatives.

Primary Responsibilities 

  • Manage the daily activity of the Trading team
  • Trade review and approvals
  • Trade Error Resolution approvals
  • Resolve any advisor escalations with win-win solutions
  • Train and coach members of the Orion Trading team to ensure a high level of accuracy and service
  • Manage team performance to meet or exceed established goals through proactive communication and regular feedback
  • Foster an environment of collaboration within the Advisor Services team and other departments to create a seamless advisor experience
  • Administer company policies to ensure consistent application and adherence
  • Develop and implement process improvements to optimize the Trading experience for advisors and team
  • Responsible for ensuring ad hoc projects related to company-wide or department initiatives are appropriately assigned and successfully completed
  • Responsible for the hiring, development, training, and evaluating performance of the team
  • Other duties will be assigned as needed.

Qualifications

Experience

  • Must have 7+ years of financial services experience including mutual fund, equity, and fixed income trading.
  • Experience with custodian trading platforms and the Orion platform required.

Education/Training

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.

  • Self-starter with ability to prioritize and manage a number of projects concurrently
  • Understanding of operational, compliance and risk issues in the brokerage industry
  • Strong knowledge of financial products; retail and institutional business a plus
  • Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with clients and staff
  • Ability to present and motivate team towards departmental and company-wide initiatives
  • Ability to mentor and help team members achieve their goals and improve team performance
  • Positive attitude, strong work ethic with a high level of integrity and ethics
  • Client focused attitude with the ability to quickly assess and resolve escalated issues
  • A desire to think creatively and out of the box to solve complex problems
  • Ability to adapt and change focus and strategy quickly if necessary
  • Highly motivated, strong team player
  • Must thrive in a fast-paced work environment
  • Flexibility and the ability to work under pressure and within tight deadlines is critical

 

The annualized base pay range for this role is expected to be between $87,000 - $92,000/year.  Actual base pay could vary based on factors including but not limited to experience, subject matter expertise, geographic location where work will be performed, and the applicant's skill set.  The base pay is just one component of the total compensation package for employees.  Other rewards may include an annual cash bonus and a comprehensive benefits package.
