Position Summary
The Advanced Planning Specialist brings a strong foundation in researching and creating content focused on technical financial planning concepts, along with some client-facing planning/planning support. This individual is passionate about continuous learning, personal development, and using research and expertise to deliver valuable insights and resources to our advisor community.
In this role, the Specialist works within the Planning Department alongside industry experts and thought leaders to support both internal initiatives and advisors across the RIA and Advisor Solutions businesses. Primary Responsibilities
- Respond to low-complexity incoming advisor questions
- Provide research and support to Advanced Planning Advisors and cases
- Conduct research on provisions, policies, and legislation impacting financial planning
- Routine and annual updates to department content with a focus on information in the Planning Service Center
- Create or support others to create technical planning informational and educational resources, such as articles, presentations, etc.
- Support and/or oversight of projects, initiatives, and communication relating to content delivery or the Planning Service Center (knowledge sharing systems)
- May support administrative and project oversight and associated communication with other departments
- Attend firm conferences and other regional meetings
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree (financial planning or finance programs preferred)
- CFP designation preferred or to be acquired within a reasonable and agreed upon timeframe following employment
- Strong planning knowledge/experience with an emphasis on tax planning
- 5+ years of direct client advising experience or experience supporting advisors in the planning process
- Strong interpersonal communication skills
- Collaborative team-orientated approach in a largely virtual environment with a spirit of service
- Knowledgeable about financial industry, financial products, and financial planning concepts
- Strong ability to research information and synthesize and organize that information in outline, article, or presentation form
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
- Ability to learn, manage, and maintain software solutions that support workflow, communication, and knowledge sharing
- High degree of organization, both individually and within a team environment
The annualized base pay range for this role is expected to be $95,000/year. Actual base pay could vary based on factors including but not limited to experience, subject matter expertise, geographic location where work will be performed, and the applicant's skill set. The base pay is just one component of the total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include an annual cash bonus and a comprehensive benefits package.
