Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Analyst to join our Data & AI Team at Focus Financial Partners. Our work starts with the needs of the business. You will partner closely with business leaders and stakeholders, owning timelines, requirements, and accountability for delivery of new domains and data products, then partner with our Data Team and source system owners to drive the full data product development lifecycle to fruition: from raw data analysis, to curation into our unified data model, through oversight and delivery of business-facing data products.

This role will be hybrid with 3 days/week onsite in our St. Louis or Boston office.

Primary Responsibilities

Source System Onboarding & Discovery

  • Lead upfront analysis of newly onboarded source systems and stay abreast of upstream changes in source that impact our data model and analytics. For this role specifically, there will be an early emphasis on Workday Finance and Human Capital data, which will have deep interconnectivity with our core data model.
  • Partner closely with the data modeling team to determine how new sources of data layer into our unified model, informed by analysis and stakeholder discussions, determining the logic and relationships needed to fit business use cases. At times, this includes proposing your own model design and driving alignment with modelers, engineers, and stakeholders to accelerate the development cycle.

Curation & Source-to-Target Ownership

  • Own translation of raw data into the Curated model, including source-to-target mapping, transformation and derivation logic, null handling, and edge cases.
  • Author clear definitions, expectations, and known limitations for the data you curate; become the subject matter expert and go-to counterpart to stakeholders for the domains and data products you touch.
  • Serve as the authoritative source of Sprint / Backlog priorities and sequencing, insofar as they relate to projects that you own, and facilitate handoff of analyst documentation to developers, ensuring well-documented, on-time delivery.

Project & Product Development

  • Partner with business stakeholders and technical SMEs to understand their use cases, the data necessary to deliver said use cases, and quickly pivot into requirements, modeling, and development work.
  • Prove out proposed solutions using code and data visualization before handoff for production build.
  • Own ongoing enhancements and roadmap, with stakeholder buy in, for domains and projects that you own the delivery of to meet existing and evolving business needs.

Ongoing Analytics & Stakeholder Support

  • Serve as a line of defense on live data, validating outputs and investigating anomalies so the business can trust what's being consumed.
  • Field ad hoc stakeholder requests as they arise, from debugging unexpected results to one-off reporting needs.
  • Stay across the details of stakeholder needs and anticipate priority, dependencies, and ‘how to’ of pending use cases.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Analytics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience. Formal degree requirements are secondary to a demonstrated track record of operating at a high level in the data and analytics / product management space.
  • 6-8+ years of experience in analytics, business intelligence, data analysis, or a related discipline, preferably in a Financial Services context. Wealth Management background is a plus.
  • Advanced SQL proficiency.
  • Experience with Power BI or a similar BI platform.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, translating fluently between technical detail and business language.
  • Demonstrated ability to partner with senior business stakeholders and develop trusted relationships.
  • Experience gathering business requirements and logic, translating needs into technical solutions.
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities and demonstrated ability break down uses cases into smaller components and prioritize execution sequencing with stakeholders in an agile manner.
  • Comfortable operating in ambiguity, at times autonomously, on tight timelines without losing rigor.
  • High personal agency and situational awareness, anticipates what's next and takes initiative to keep work moving forward.
  • Familiarity with, or capacity to quickly adopt, AI-assisted tools to accelerate data work and improve analytical productivity.

Form CC-305

OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
