Senior Manager of Practice Support
We are seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Senior Manager of Practice Support (“Manager”) to lead a transformative effort in how the firm delivers operational and strategic support to its legal departments. This individual will be a persuasive communicator, decisive leader, and relationship builder who brings a deep understanding of the intersection of law firm operations, practice management, finance, and professional development. Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer and working closely with Department Chairs and business services leadership, the Manager will serve as the strategic and operational nexus between legal departments and the firm’s functional support teams—including finance, operations, HR, and technology.

Responsibilities:
- Oversight of current Practice Support function and creating a roadmap for firm-wide expansion
- Direct managerial oversight of the Paralegals, Practice Support Managers, and Managing Clerk
- Conduct detailed assessments of department operations, identifying inefficiencies and redundancies and provide strategic recommendations on industry’s best practices
- Develop and monitor KPI’s to assess effectiveness and efficiency of Practice Support services; report findings and recommend new strategies
- In conjunction with IT and Innovation & KM lead the evaluation and implementation of new technologies and tools; champion change management efforts and adoption of new technologies and processes
- Work closely with Human Resources and Lateral Recruiting to ensure successful onboarding of new and lateral hires; play a critical role in the successful offboarding of lawyers
- Coordinate with Professional Development on training opportunities and the annual review process
- Collaborate with Intake and Conflicts teams to ensure accurate data is being entered into our systems
- Liaise with the Finance and Business Development teams to gather financial data and compile presentation decks for internal meetings; provide feedback on refining and improving data outputs
- Assist in the preparation of legal department’s annual business plan
- Utilize business and industry trends to make recommendations on how to improve our Practice Support functionality
- Provide advisory, administrative, and technical support for Department Charis as needed
Qualifications:
- 5-7 years of progressive law firm experience required
- Law firm practice management experience preferred
- Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and develop high-performing teams
- Strong organizational skills
- Strong familiarity with legal technology tools
- Excellent verbal communication skills in person and via email
- Ability to diffuse conflicts and resolve service issues
- Ability to work effectively with people at all organizational levels of the firm
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion

Compensation range is $170,000 to $184,000 commensurate with related experience and qualifications. The salary of the candidate selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to internal equity, experience, specialty, and training. The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the firm's reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
